Gladiator Proving Ground (Part 1)

[In their lair...]

“Alright, men. As Gladiator Beasts, we have trained long and hard for this. We have a Duel ahead of us and it’s time to show our opponent we mean business. We will not allow them to take the easy way out. Do I make myself clear?” declared Heraklinos.

“Yes Sergeant Heraklinos!” answered the other Gladiator Beasts together as they head out to the Duel. [Meanwhile...]

“So we’ve all been given new cards? Interesting because I’ve received Arcana Force II – The Apprentice as the Tuner and Arcana Force Infinity as the Synchro. Arcana Force II can be Special Summoned from the hand if I have another Arcana Force monster in play or from the Grave by discarding a Spell Card and is a weak monster with 500 ATK and DEF while Arcana Force Infinity has seven times that amount for both its ATK and its DEF. It allows for any Tuner and non-Tuners must be Arcana Force. Like most other Arcana Force monsters, it’s a LIGHT Fairy-Type monster. As for its ability, its destruction can be stopped as long as I banish 1 Arcana Force monster from my hand or Grave,” said Sartorius.

“Yes, and I have been given......what are those monsters?” Sarina.

“I’m not sure but they’re off in a hurry somewhere,” answered Sartorius. [With Jaden and his friends.....]

“Hey, Sy, I got the cards made,” called Chumley as he raced over.

“Awesome, Chum, what’d I get?” asked Syrus.

“Two totally licious cards, Sy. You got Busroid, a Level 3 Tuner with 1200 ATK and DEF that can bring out another Machine-Type roid monster when it gets destroyed. The Synchro is Tankroid and it needs a Machine Tuner monster and non-Tuner Machines too. Once per turn, it can either add a Machine-Type roid from your Deck to your hand or bring back a Machine-Type roid monster during the End Phase it gets taken out in battle but it loses all of its effects,” explained Chumley.

“Thanks Chumley. It was totally worth the wait,” said Jaden.

“At last, men we have reached our destination. Head to your cards now!” announced Heraklinos.

“Can we help you with something?” asked Alexis.

“I’ll ask the questions around here, got it? Where is soldier Jaden Yuki?” protested Heraklinos.

“I am, I guess,” replied Jaden.

“Very well, are you ready to Duel, son?” asked Heraklinos.

“You bet I am,” answered Jaden.

“Good, now let’s begin! I’ll call Gladiator Beast Bestiari (Info) (1500 ATK) to my front line in Attack Mode and Set 1 card. Go private Yuki!” yelled Heraklinos. (Hand: 4 cards)

“So you like the army, do ya? Well how about I bring on a soldier of my own like Elemental HERO Stratos (Info) (1800 ATK) in Attack Mode and he’s got two abilities that I can choose from, but I have to choose the other effect that allows me to add an Elemental HERO, Destiny HERO or Evil HERO from my Deck to my hand and I’ll choose Elemental HERO Ocean!” began Jaden.

“Oh no you don’t. You gotta be prepared for the enemy, which is me and I’ve Set a Trap for you called Gladiator Beast War Chariot (Info) and your Stratos fell for it because your monster’s effect is cancelled out since I have a Gladiator Beast monster in play,” countered Heraklinos. Stratos’ effect is negated is negated and Stratos is destroyed.

“This Deck sounds pretty cool! Guess I’ll just throw down 2 face-downs and call it a turn,” stated Jaden. (Hand: 2 cards)

“Gladiator Beast Andal (Info) (1900 ATK) report in Attack Mode! Now I’ll return them to my Deck for Gladiator Beast Gyzarus (Info) (2400 ATK) in Attack Mode and with its effect, I can destroy 2 cards on the field and I’ll target your 2 face-down cards,” said Heraklinos. Jaden’s face-down cards are destroyed.

“Whoa! They can use Contact Fusion too? I’m stoked to face this Deck now!” remarked Jaden.

“You’ll love Gyzarus’ direct attack on you then! Jaden’s LP drops to 5600. That’s not all as he can initiate a De-Fusion sort-of maneuver because I return him to my Extra Deck and bring out 2 other recruits from my Deck that aren't named Gladiator Beast Bestiari. You've lost the war, kid," added Heraklinos.

“Based on your performance, they may be your last five cards of this Duel!” stated Jack.

“I’ll Tribute my Peten the Dark Clown and my Blue-Eyes brought back with Silent Doom for another Blue-Eyes in Attack Mode and unlike the previous BEWD, this one can mow down the rest of your Life Points. Kaiser Glider, take out his Dark Resonator!” declared Kaiba. Dark Resonator isn’t destroyed.

“You won’t take me out without getting through Dark Resonator first and thanks to his effect, he can’t be destroyed in battle once per turn,” explained Jack.

“Go Blue-Eyes! Attack and end this Duel!” ordered Kaiba.

“Once again, I have a Trap and this one goes to your Blue Eyes. This is where it all ends, Kaiba! It’s one you played earlier, Shadow Spell (Info) and I can bet I don’t need to explain how it works,” intercepted Jack. BEWD’s ATK drops to 2300.

“Once your stall tactics wear off, I’ll have all that I need to take you down once and for all! Now that it’s been 5 turns since I activated Card of Demise, I have to discard all cards in my hand to the Grave and end my turn,” said Kaiba. He discards the cards. (Hand: 0 cards)

“I’ll Set another face-down card to end my turn,” said Jack. (Hand: 0 cards)

“I Summon Blade Knight (Info) (1600 ATK) in Attack Mode and with no cards in my hand, he gains 400 ATK! Blade Knight’s ATK rises to 2000. Blade Knight, attack directly! Jack’s LP drops to 1000. That’ll do for now and with only 1000 Life Points to spare, you won’t last much longer,” said Kaiba. (Hand: 0 cards)

“I activate my face-down, Descending Lost Star (Info) and it lets me target a Synchro in my Grave and bring it back in Defense Mode with no DEF and its Level reduced by 1 so come back Red Dragon Archfiend (0 DEF)! Red Dragon Archfiend appears. Next I Tribute it for Strong Wind Dragon (Info) (2400 ATK) in Attack Mode and since I Summoned him by Tributing a Dragon, he gains half of that monster’s original ATK so that’s another 1500! Strong Wind Dragon’s ATK rises to 3900. Strong Wind Dragon, take out that Blue-Eyes! Blue-Eyes is destroyed and Kaiba’s score drops to 2600. Let’s see you get out of that!” declared Jack. (Hand: 0 cards)

“I’ll activate the Dragon’s Mirror (Info) card, allowing me to banish Fusion Materials I have on the field or in my Grave for a Dragon-Type Fusion Monster and bring out a Fusion Monster. Since all 3 Blue-Eyes are in my Grave, I’ll banish them for Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon (Info) (4500 ATK) in Attack Mode. Ultimate Dragon, take down that Strong Wind Dragon! Strong Wind Dragon is destroyed and Jack’s LP drops to 400. Finish him off, Blade Knight!” ordered Kaiba. Jack’s score drops to 0.

“I’m impressed that you won. You may not be so bad after all,” said Jack.

“You’re not so bad yourself, for a Duelist that is,” agreed Kaiba.

“Don’t think that you’ll win next time we meet,” protested Jack.

“That’s exactly what I was thinking, actually,” corrected Kaiba.

“It won’t be true so look out,” stated Jack before leaving. [Elsewhere...]

“Nice, I’ve got a Comrade Swordsman of Landstar card. Fits perfectly with my other Landstar cards and it’s a Tuner,” said Joey.

“I wonder if you have a Landstar Synchro monster to go with it,” pondered Tea`.

“Yep and it’s called King of Landstar,” answered Joey.

“Any idea what it does?” asked Yugi.

“Says here that in addition to needing Comrade Swordsman of Landstar as its Tuner, it can Special Summon 1 Landstar monster from my hand or Deck with double its ATK for that turn. It also reduces Battle Damage from a battle involving a Landstar monster other than itself to 0,” read Joey.

“That’s awesome, Joey. Is it strong?” asked Tea`.

“Kinda, it’s got 1500 ATK and 1000 DEF and it’s a Level 6 monster, which’ll make it easy to bring out since both the Tuner and Swordsman of Landstar are Level 3,” analyzed Joey.

“I got Ancient Sacred Wyvern, which is a Fairy-Type Synchro whose ATK varies depending on the difference in our LP,” said Tea`.

“Sounds like that one requires more strategy to make it work,” speculated Yugi.

“Nah, my Deck’s all about gaining Life Points so it’ll be strong in no time,” replied Tea`.

“Great idea, Tea`. Can’t wait to see the rest of our new cards in action,” said Joey excitedly.

“I just hope no one is after these cards because that’ll give them a big advantage,” thought Yugi.

Master of the Dragons ( Part 2)

Previously...

“Let’s see what you have left to fight against me as I end my turn,” demanded Jack. (Hand: 0 cards)

“Too bad because my face-down card Negate Attack not only stops your attack but any future attacks you could make this turn are thwarted as well,” countered Kaiba.

“A sad defense but for now I’ll end my turn,” said Jack. (Hand: 0 cards)

““It's time I prove once and for all that I'm superior to you and I have just the card to do it! I’ll use my Card of Demise (Info) Spell to draw until I’m holding 5 cards but I lose all cards in my hand in 5 turns,” said Kaiba.

“Based on your performance, they may be your last five cards of this Duel!” stated Jack.

“I’ve got a feeling they’ll be just what I need to win this. First I’ll use my Soul Exchange (Info) card, allowing me to Tribute 1 monster you have instead of one of mine and in its place I’ll Summon Kaiser Glider (Info) (2400 ATK) in Attack Mode. Red Nova Dragon disappears. Since I can’t attack the turn I use it, I’ll Set 2 cards face-down to end my turn,” said Kaiba. (Hand: 1 card)

            “My turn!” declared Jack.

“Hold on as I activate Call of the Haunted (Info) to bring back my Terra Firma Dragon (3500 ATK)!” interrupted Kaiba. Terra Firma Dragon appears.

“That’s too bad because I’ll simply send it to the Grave to bring out my Trap Eater (Info) (1600 DEF) in Defense Mode and end my turn,” said Jack. Call of the Haunted disappears. (Hand: 0 cards)

“I’ll activate my Trade-In (Info) card, allowing me to draw 2 cards by discarding a Level 8 monster. He discards his card, then draws twice. Next, I use Silent Doom (Info) to target my Blue-Eyes (Info) since it’s a Normal Monster and Special Summon it (2500 DEF) to my field in Defense Mode. Blue-Eyes appears. Of course, my card prevents Blue-Eyes from attacking but that doesn’t matter for I also activate Burst Stream of Destruction (Info), which wipes out all of your monsters since Blue-Eyes is on my field! Jack’s monsters are destroyed. My BEWD still can’t attack but my Kaiser Glider has no restraints. Kaiser Glider, attack him directly! Jack’s LP drops to 3000. That ends my turn,” said Kaiba. (Hand: 0 cards)

“I play Dark Resonator (Info) (300 DEF) in Defense Mode to end my turn,” said Jack. (Hand: 0 cards)

“I’ll Tribute my Peten the Dark Clown and my Blue-Eyes brought back with Silent Doom for another Blue-Eyes (Info) in Attack Mode and unlike the previous BEWD, this one can mow down the rest of your Life Points. Kaiser Glider, take out his Dark Resonator!” declared Kaiba. Dark Resonator isn’t destroyed.

“You won’t take me out without getting through Dark Resonator first and thanks to his effect, he can’t be destroyed in battle once per turn,” explained Jack.

"Make your final move,” ordered Kaiba. (Hand: 0 cards)

“I’ll draw and end my turn,” said Jack. (Hand: 1 card)

“Well then it’s over for you. Kaiser Glider, end this Duel!” declared Kaiba.

“I don’t think so as I play Battle Fader (Info) (0 DEF) in Defense Mode!” retaliated Jack.

“It’s still my turn! How can you play a monster from your hand now?” protested Kaiba.

“His ability allows me to play him during your turn if you attack me directly. When he arrives this way, the Battle Phase is over, but he gets banished should he ever leave the field after being Summoned this way,” answered Jack.

“Oh well I guess you get another turn then,” said Kaiba. (Hand: 0 cards)

“I’ll Set 1 card to end my turn,” said Jack. (Hand: 0 cards)

            “Kaiser Glider, attack!” ordered Kaiba.

“I activate Fiendish Chain (Info) and with it, your Kaiser Glider loses all of its effects and cannot attack,” objected Jack.

“I still have a monster left and I’m going to use it to take out your last defense! Battle Fader disappears. There’s no hope for you now as I end my turn,” said Kaiba. (Hand: 1 card)

“I’ll Set another face-down and end my turn,” said Jack. (Hand: 0 cards)

“Go Blue-Eyes! Attack and end this Duel!” ordered Kaiba.

“Once again, I have a Trap and this one goes to your Blue Eyes. This is where it all ends, Kaiba!" declared Jack.

Master of the Dragons (Part 1)

“I’ll bring more than you can handle as I’ll use Ancient Rules, a Spell Card that lets me bring out a Level 5 or more Normal Monster from my hand and it’ll be none other than my Blue-Eyes White Dragon (3000 ATK) in Attack Mode. I’ll Set 2 cards face-down to end my turn,” stated Kaiba. (Hand: 2 cards)

““You may have the upper hand, but watch a pro at work. Seeing as how you've lost to someone that should be inferior to you many times, you're about to get schooled again! I’ll bring out Clock Resonator (Info) (600 DEF) in Defense Mode and Set 1 card to end my turn,” declared Jack. (Hand: 2 cards)
“From all the talk I’ve heard about you, being the former king and all, you haven’t shown me much at all so maybe I have to show you what a winner does by using Enemy Controller (Info) to force your monster into Attack Mode. With that done, I’ll attack it with my Terra Firma Dragon!” announced Kaiba.

“I’ll activate Red Screen (Info) and now your monsters are frozen provided I give up 1000 Life Points each turn. If you think that what you’ve seen so far is all I’ve got, you’d be sorely mistaken!” yelled Jack.

“Really? I’m not inclined to believe that based on your actions in this Duel,” protested Kaiba.

“Like I said, you haven’t seen anything yet and for my turn, I’ll start by disposing of my Red Screen card. Red Screen is destroyed. Next, I’ll bring back Vice Dragon (Info) (2000 ATK) with Monster Reborn (Info)! Vice Dragon appears. Now I’ll tune my monsters to bring forth my signature monster, Red Dragon Archfiend (3000 ATK) in Attack Mode. Then I’ll use Pot of Greed (Info) and draw 2 more. Then, since I have Red Dragon Archfiend out, I can play not one but two Create Resonators (Info)

(800 ATK x2) in Attack Mode. I use my face-down Level Retuner (Info) to make 1 of my Create Resonators Level 1 and with that now the case, I can give them a tuning and bring out Red Nova Dragon (3500 ATK) in Attack Mode,” stated Jack.

            “Wait, TWO Tuners?” questioned Kaiba.

“Yes, Red Nova Dragon needs both Red Dragon Archfiend and 2 Tuner monsters as Synchro Materials, but it’s well worth the price as thanks to Nova Dragon’s effect, it can’t be destroyed by card effects and gains 500 ATK for each Tuner in my Grave,” answered Jack.

“Oh no! With those three Resonators and Dark Tinker, his monster gains 2000 ATK points!” thought Kaiba. Red Nova Dragon’s ATK rises to 5500.

“Watch your monster fall as Red Nova Dragon destroys it in its attack!” declared Jack. Terra Firma Dragon is destroyed and Kaiba’s LP drops to 5000.

“Let’s see what you have left to fight against me as I end my turn,” demanded Jack. (Hand: 0 cards)

“I’ll Summon Peten the Dark Clown (Info) (1200 DEF) in Defense Mode and Set 1 card face-down to end my turn,” said Kaiba. (Hand: 1 card)

“Now who’s all talk and no bite? It looks like you’re going to eat your own words soon enough as I play Twin-Sword Marauder (Info) (1600 ATK) in Attack Mode. Marauder, take out his Dark Clown! Peten is destroyed and Kaiba’s score decreases to 4600. By the way, my Marauder deals piercing Battle Damage and can attack again since its first attack target was in Defense Mode,” remarked Jack.

“Well my Peten has an effect as well. When sent to the Graveyard, I can banish it from there and bring out another Peten (Info) from my Deck,” pointed out Kaiba. He puts the first Peten in his pocket and a new Peten the Dark Clown appears in Defense Mode.

“Doesn’t matter if you have two or a hundred of those things because none of them are a match for my Marauder, which is going to take another one out!” protested Jack. Another Peten is destroyed and Kaiba’s LP drops to 4200.

“I’ll use my Peten’s (Info) effect once again!” declared Kaiba. The second Peten is placed in his pocket and a third Peten appears in Defense Mode.

“You’ll need that wimp to defend you or you'd surly lost here and now but your last defense will be no more as Red Nova Dragon attacks!” stated Jack.

“Too bad because my face-down card Negate Attack (Info) not only stops your attack but any future attacks you could make this turn are thwarted as well,” countered Kaiba.

“A sad defense, but for now I’ll end my turn,” said Jack. (Hand: 0 cards)

Hero’s Duel (Part 3)

“I’ll use Pot of Greed and draw twice. Next, I use Fissure to get rid of your weakest monster, which happens to be your only one!  You’ve done well so far but here’s where the tables turn! Nitro Warrior is destroyed. I’ll play Dark Magic Curtain to bring out Dark Magician (2500 ATK) in Attack Mode from my Deck after I pay half my Life Points! His LP drops to 2900 and Dark Magician appears. Dark Magician, direct attack on Yusei! Yusei’s LP drops to 5500.

“Way to deal some damage, Yug!” cheered Joey.

            “Nice one, man!” added Tristan.

“It’s your turn, Yusei,” said Yugi.

“I’ll use Monster Reborn to target my Junk Synchron (Info) (1300 ATK) and return it to my field! Junk Synchron appears. Then I’ll give it a tune-up with my Shield Wing to Synchro Summon Junk Warrior (2300 ATK) in Attack Mode. Junk Warrior, give Master Magician a taste of your power by taking it down!” declared Yusei.

“Sorry but you’ve activated Mirror Force (Info), which destroys your monsters in Attack Mode!” countered Yugi. Junk Warrior is destroyed.

“I may lose here, but it’s been a great Duel with the first King of Games as I end my turn,” smiled Yusei. (Hand: 0 cards)

“I agree. Master Magician, end this Duel!” replied Yugi. Yusei’s LP drops to 0.

“You’ve done well to master the Synchro Summon so quickly. I hope we can meet again someday,” said Yusei.

“I’m sure we will,” agreed Yugi. They shake hands. [Meanwhile...]

“If it isn’t the famed Seto Kaiba, Battle City finalist,” remarked Jack.

“That’s me alright, but what brings you here?” asked Kaiba.

“Think you’re man enough to Duel me?” asked Jack.

“I don’t back down from challenges so let’s Duel,” answered Kaiba.

            “Bring it on!” declared Jack.

“I’ll bring more than you can handle as I’ll use Ancient Rules (Info), a Spell Card that lets me bring out a Level 5 or more Normal Monster from my hand and it’ll be none other than my Blue-Eyes White Dragon (Info) (3000 ATK) in Attack Mode. I’ll Set 2 cards face-down to end my turn,” stated Kaiba. (Hand: 2 cards)

“Since you have all the monsters on the field, I’ll bring out Vice Dragon

(Info) (2400 DEF) in Defense Mode but its ATK and DEF are now halved because I Summoned it this way. Vice Dragon’s stats become (1000/1200). Because of that Special Summon, I’ll also bring out Dark Tinker (Info) (1000 ATK) in Attack Mode. Next, with Dark Tinker being a Tuner, I’ll tune them together and Synchro Summon Chaos King Archfiend (2600 ATK) in Attack Mode and have it attack your Blue Eyes!” said Jack.

“You’re kidding, right? My Blue-Eyes out matches your monster,” protested Kaiba.

“When my Chaos King attacks, it swaps the ATK and DEF of each monster you have and with only 2500 DEF, that became its ATK and therefore is no match,” explained Jack.

“I’ll save my Blue-Eyes by activating Shadow Spell (Info), which locks your monster in place and lowers its ATK by 700,” retaliated Kaiba. Chaos King’s ATK drops to 1900.

“You got lucky this round so after Setting 1 card face-down, I’m done,” said Jack. (Hand: 3 cards)

“Your monster is going too as I bring out The White Stone of Legend

(Info) (300 ATK) in Attack Mode and with it being a Tuner monster, I’ll send it and my Blue-Eyes to the Grave to Summon Blue-Eyes Terra Firma Dragon (Info) (3500 ATK) in Attack Mode and not only does it gain 1000 ATK since all of its Synchro Materials were Dragons but if your monster loses a battle against mine, it gets banished instead of going to the Graveyard. Terra Firma Dragon’s ATK rises to 4500. Thanks to my White Stone’s effect, I get to add another Blue-Eyes White Dragon to my hand. Terra Firma Dragon, destroy his Chaos King Archfiend! Chaos King Archfiend disappears, Shadow Spell is destroyed and Jack’s LP drops to 5400. I’ll end my turn for now,” stated Kaiba. (Hand: 3 cards)

Hero’s Duel (Part 2)

Previously....

“Yugi Muto, good to see you. I take it you’ve gotten your new cards as well?” greeted Yusei.

“Yeah, and I’m still trying to get used to this whole business of Synchro Summons and of course this town’s new look,” replied Yugi.

“Why not have a friendly Duel to test them out with nothing at stake?” asked Yusei.

“Valkyrion, destroy his Armory Arm!” said Yugi.

“Your attack activates my Synchro Deflector Trap and with it, your attack is stopped and I can target 1 of your monsters to destroy, which will be your Valkyrion. This is where the Duel favors me!” interrupted Yusei. Valkyrion is destroyed.

“I’ll use Pot of Greed (Info) and draw twice. Next, I use Fissure (Info) to get rid of your weakest monster, which happens to be your only one!  You’ve done well so far but here’s where the tables turn! Nitro Warrior is destroyed. I’ll play Dark Magic Curtain (Info) to bring out Dark Magician (Info) (2500 ATK) in Attack Mode from my Deck after I pay half my Life Points! His LP drops to 2900 and Dark Magician appears. Dark Magician, direct attack on Yusei!” said Yugi. Yusei’s LP drops to 5500.

“Way to deal some damage, Yug!” cheered Joey.

            “Nice one, man!” added Tristan.

“It’s your turn, Yusei,” said Yugi.(Hand: 0 cards)

“Right and with it, I’ll play Sonic Chick (Info) (300 DEF) in Defense Mode and end my turn,” stated Yusei. (Hand: 0 cards)

“I Summon Queen’s Knight (Info) (1500 ATK) in Attack Mode. Queen’s Knight, destroy his Sonic Chick!” ordered Yugi.

“I’ll activate my Scrap-Iron Scarecrow (Info) to stop your attack and unlike most Normal Traps, this one goes face-down after use,” explained Yusei.

“Well then Dark Magician, take out Sonic Chick! Sonic Chick isn’t destroyed. Wait but your monster is weaker,” said Yugi.

“Points don’t matter so long your monster has 1900 or more ATK because if so, it cannot take out Sonic Chick in battle,” elaborated Yusei.

“No wonder he played that card before. Queen’s Knight had only 1500 ATK points, enough to bypass Sonic Chick’s effect,” realized Tea`.

“That shall end my turn then,” concluded Yugi. (Hand: 0 cards)

“I bring out Speed Warrior (Info) (900 ATK) in Attack Mode,” declared Yusei.

“Only 900 points? What’s he thinkin’?” questioned Joey.

“Due to Speed Warrior’s effect, for this turn’s Battle Phase, he has twice his original ATK power and with 1800 ATK, your Queen’s Knight is going down! Speed Warrior’s ATK rises to 1800. Speed Warrior, take down that Queen’s Knight! Queen’s Knight is destroyed and Yugi’s LP drops to 2600. That’ll end my turn,” said Yusei. Speed Warrior’s ATK returns to 900. (Hand: 0 cards)

“Here goes! It’s my Tuner monster! I Summon my own Tuner monster, Frequency Magician (Info) (600 ATK) in Attack Mode. Since it’s Level 2, I’ll send it and my Dark Magician to my Grave to Synchro Summon The Master Magician (Info) (2100 ATK) in Attack Mode. Under normal conditions, he’s got piercing Battle Damage, but since I used two Spellcasters for her Synchro Summon, she can attack twice per Battle Phase so take out Speed Warrior! Speed Warrior is destroyed and Yusei’s score drops to 4200. Since your monster got destroyed, you cannot use Spell or Trap Cards when she attacks so attack again my Master Magician! Yusei’s LP drops to 2100. With my hand empty, I end my turn,” said Yugi. (Hand: 0 cards)

“I’ll play Shield Wing (Info) (900 DEF) in Defense Mode and end my turn,” said Yusei.

“I draw, and play 1 card face-down. Master Magician, destroy Shield Wing!” ordered Yugi.

“Due to Shield Wing’s effect, it can’t be taken out in battle up to twice per turn,” stated Yusei.

“That’s it for me then I guess,” shrugged Yugi. (Hand: 0 cards)

“I’ll use Monster Reborn (Info) to target my Junk Synchron and return it to my field!" called Yusei.

Hero’s Duel (Part 1)

[Inside Domino City...]

“Receiving these two cards is good for my Deck. Losing to that other Duelist’s Judgment Dragon was a loss I have not yet recovered from,” thought Ishizu.

“Pegasus handing me Trap Eater and Serket of Ceremony were wise choices and the designer must’ve studied my Deck well,” thought Odeon. [With Yugi and his friends...]

“That’d be great. It’s not every day we get that chance. Usually some creep puts the world at stake or something,” agreed Yugi.

“Aw yeah, this’ll be awesome!” exclaimed Joey.

            “Good luck, guys,” cheered Tea`.

“I’ll begin with Fortress Warrior (Info) (1200 DEF) in Defense Mode to end my turn,” stated Yusei. (Hand: 5 cards)

“Alright then I Summon Alpha the Magnet Warrior (Info) (1400 ATK) in Attack Mode. Alpha, take out Fortress Warrior!” declared Yugi. Fortress Warrior isn’t destroyed.

“Due to Fortress Warrior’s first effect, once a turn, it can’t be destroyed in battle,” explained Yusei.

“I’ll Set 1 card face-down to end my turn,” concluded Yugi. (Hand: 4 cards)

“Then with my turn, I’ll play my Tuner monster Nitro Synchron (Info) (300 ATK) in Attack Mode. Next, I’ll give my monsters a tune-up and bring out the Synchro Monster called Armory Arm (1800 ATK) in Attack Mode. Now Armory Arm will attack your Magnet Warrior!” stated Yusei. Alpha is destroyed and Yugi’s score drops to 7600.

“With my monster destroyed, it activates my Soul Rope (Info) Trap Card, allowing me to bring out Gamma the Magnet Warrior (Info) (1800 DEF) in Defense Mode by paying 1000 Life Points,” retaliated Yugi before his LP drops to 6600.

“I’m hoping to see more as I end my turn with 2 face-down cards,” said Yusei. (Hand: 2 cards)

“Thanks to Monster Reborn (Info), I’ll target my Alpha the Magnet Warrior

(Info) in the Grave and bring it back! Alpha the Magnet Warrior appears. Then I’ll bring out Beta the Magnet Warrior (Info) (1700 ATK) in Attack Mode and send them all to the Grave for Valkyrion the Magna Warrior (Info) (3500 ATK) in Attack Mode! Valkyrion, destroy his Armory Arm!” said Yugi.

“Your attack activates my Synchro Deflector (Info) Trap and with it, your attack is stopped and I can target 1 of your monsters to destroy, which will be your Valkyrion,” interrupted Yusei. Valkyrion is destroyed.

“I’ll finish my turn by bring Valkyrion back with Magnet Reverse (Info), which lets me target a Rock or Machine-Type monster in my Grave and bring it back to my side of the field in Defense Mode and my choice is Valkyrion (Info)!” added Yugi. Valkyrion appears. (Hand: 1 card)

“You’ve got quite a defense there but let’s see if I can overcome it. I’ll use Graceful Revival (Info), whose effect lets me target a Level 2 or below monster in my Grave and bring it back in Attack Mode and I’m choosing Nitro Synchron (Info)! Nitro Synchron appears. Then, I’ll add Tuningware (Info) (100 ATK) to my field in Attack Mode too. Now I’ll tune them all for another Synchro Monster like Nitro Warrior (2800 ATK) in Attack Mode. Thanks to both Nitro Synchron and Tuningwares’ abilities, I’m picking up 2 cards. He draws twice. I’ll Set 2 cards and end my turn,” announced Yusei. (Hand: 0 cards)

“Too bad Yusei’s monster is weaker than Yug’s. It’ll go down 1-2-3,” said Joey.

“Maybe, but if Yusei really is that good then it might be a strategy,” postulated Tristan.

“His monster IS weaker than mine so I’d better be careful what I do since I’ve already fallen for his other Trap Card. I’ll play Big Shield Gardna (Info) (2600 DEF) in Defense Mode and end my turn,” said Yugi. (Hand: 1 card)

“First I’ll attack your Big Shield Gardna with Nitro Warrior! Big Shield Gardna is destroyed. Then, using Nitro Warrior’s ability, I can change your Valkyrion to Attack Mode and attack it. This is where the Duel favors me!" declared Yusei.

Synchronized Realm

[Outside Yugi’s house...]

“Bye, grandpa, I’m going out for a bit,” called Yugi.

“Well, be back in time for dinner,” answered Solomon, Yugi’s grandpa.

“Whoa, what’s with the city? Everything seems different now,” pondered Yugi.

“Hey Yugi! How’s it goin’, pal?” asked Joey.

“Great, Joey, except for the new city that this place seems to have become overnight,” replied Yugi.

“I was wondering that myself. There wasn’t anything wrong with the city beforehand,” added Tea`.

“Wait a sec, Joey. Look at your Deck, it’s glowing,” pointed Yugi.

“You’re right but I wonder why,” said Tea`. Joey draws the top card.

“What is this? It looks like a Monster Card but it’s got a white border around it and I’ve never seen this card before,” questioned Joey. The others have a look.

“Hold on, guys, your Decks are glowing too,” interrupted Tea`. Yugi, Marik, and Mai draw their cards.

“How strange, we seem to have each gotten a card for nothing,” said Marik puzzled. [Meanwhile...]

“Cool card, Seto. Did you make it?” asked Mokuba.

“Like I’d have that kind of technology, Mokuba. It’s called Blue-Eyes Terra Firma Dragon and according to its text needs a card named The White Stone of Legend but I don’t have such a card, if it even exists,” answered Kaiba.

“Your Deck is glowing again,” protested Mokuba. Kaiba draws.

“No way, it’s The White Stone of Legend but where did these two cards come from?” announced Kaiba.

“Welcome, Duelists new and old! Thanks to a generous friend named Chumley Huffington, you now each have a Tuner monster and a Synchro Monster for your Decks. He thought your Decks could use some sprucing up to go with the town’s recent renovations and I couldn’t have been happier to oblige. Make Chumley proud by giving your new cards a test drive in your Duels,” proclaimed Pegasus.

“Guess that settles that,” concluded Mokuba.

“Hmm, but one thing bugs me. Why is Maximillion Pegasus allowing some chump to make cards?” questioned Kaiba to himself. [Elsewhere...]

“Not bad, I got 2 new Hero monsters,” stated Jaden.

“Cyber Angel Mecha-Supreme isn’t bad based on what I read. The Tuner monster I have on the other hand requires me to send one of my own monsters to my Grave just to bring it out,” admitted Alexis.

“How come I didn’t get a Tuner or Synchro?” asked Syrus.

            “You didn’t?” asked Jaden.

“Guess the dork isn’t good enough for them,” taunted Chazz.

“Maybe mine got lost in the mail?” suggested Syrus.

“I’d buy that if we didn’t all just draw them from our Decks,” protested Alexis.

“We can talk to Pegasus and Chumley about it,” assured Jaden.

“Yeah, it’s probably a mistake or something,” added Alexis. They head off. [At Pegasus’ HQ...]

“Sorry, Sy, guess I forgot about you with all the card making I’ve done lately,” explained Chumley.

“That’s okay. You don’t have to make me those cards,” stated Syrus sadly.

“We won’t leave any Duelist without these necessities. Rest assured, Syrus-boy, that we’ll have those cards done ASAP,” declared Pegasus.

“I sure hope so because otherwise I won’t be able to keep up my strategies,” thought Syrus.
