Episode 80: Rivals in the Ring
In Barian World, Dumon, watches the defeat of Girag and realizes Girag isn't strong enough. He calls Alito to retrieve Yuma's Number cards and Alito eventually agrees after a complaint. After Alito leaves, Another character, revealed as Mizar, questions Dumon's actions but Dumon assures he knows what he's doing in spite of what Mizar says. Meanwhile, Girag is flipping through TV channels when he finds the singer that has everyone buzzing and develops a crush on her when Alito arrives but the duo haven't met Alito in his human form before and after each throws a punch, Girag realizes who it is.
Girag is just taking a break but Alito protests that Girag has gotten off too easy and is willing to get the job done. At school, Alito finds the mission to be a waste of time and finishes off his shish-ka-bob before bumping into Tori and developing a crush on her. Back home, he explains the situation to Girag and Girag isn't quite following what's going on. The next day, Alito makes up to Tori even though it wasn't his fault but ends up getting caught in Yuma and Bronk's usual race. Later, Alito takes his next step to Tori's heart with a scare and once again gets a dose of Yuma's antics as he takes Ray with him.
Next, he tries to use a feather to make his next compliment but Yuma is once again in the way and sneezes the feather out of Alito's hands before taking off with Ray and Astral once more. That night, Alito breaks the news to Girag and learns that the only way he can settle his rivalry with Yuma is to defeat Yuma in a duel to prove to Tori that he's better. After fueling up for the duel, Alito leaves the note that Yuma finds the next morning and asks about it on the roof. Regardless, Yuma accepts the duel and duel preparations get underway before Alito draws and summons Battlin' Boxer Headgeared (1000) in Attack Mode. Then he uses Ring Announcer, letting him Special Summon Battlin' Boxer Glassjaw (2000) in Attack Mode.
With that, he uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Battlin' Boxer Lead Yoke (2200) in Attack Mode. Yuma feels he's handled tougher but once Astral notes that Alito is a different opponent, it becomes clear to Alito whom he's facing. Finally, Alito sets 2 cards to end his turn so Yuma draws and summons Gagaga Magician (1500) in Attack Mode. Next he uses Blustering Winds to give GM 1000 ATK to 2500 this turn. His attack prompts Alito to use Lead Yoke's effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself to prevent its destruction, bringing him down to 3700 LPs. However, since Lead Yoke lost an Xyz Material, it gains 800 ATK, bringing it up to 3000 and confirming Astral's fears. With nothing else left to do this turn, Yuma ends his turn.
Alito draws and activates Mano a Mano to increase any Battle Damage they take by 1000. His attack takes out GM to leave Yuma down to 2500 LPs. Yuma isn't giving up and draws before playing Dododo Warrior (2300) in Attack Mode without Tribute and make its ATK 1800. Next, he uses Monster Reborn to revive Gagaga Magician in Attack Mode. Next he uses GM's effect to make it a Level 6 monster, then uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Gauntlet Launcher (2400) in Attack Mode. After that, he uses GL's effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself and destroy Lead Yoke but Alito is ready with Xyz Block to negate the effect by detaching an Xyz Material from LY, raising LY's ATK by 800 to 3800.
Yuma sets 2 cards to end his turn so Alito draws and attacks with LY but Yuma is ready with Battle Rush to prevent his monster's destruction in battle and make Alito take Yuma's Battle Damage. However, Alito counters with Fancy Footwork to negate and destroy BR since it's activated during the Battle Phase. As Alito goes to finish off GL, Yuma activates Xyz Strike to draw 1 card and if it's a monster, the ATK of both monsters is switched, then Alito's monster's ATK becomes 0. Yuma gets Ganbara Knight and since it's a monster, his monster's ATK becomes 3800 and Alito's monster's ATK becomes 2400, then 0 and is destroyed, letting Yuma win the duel. After Alito is knocked to the ground, Astral notes of Alito having Flaming Knockout, a Spell Card that would've won Alito the duel had it been activated and realizes that Yuma always finds a way to win when backed into a corner.
However, Tori and Ray arrive as Ray revealed everything to Tori and Tori is upset that Yuma is dueling over her and Alito isn't happy that he lost and pushes Tori aside to confront Yuma. To Yuma's surprise, Alito found the duel to be awesome and introduces himself as they're going to duel more often and they have fun while leaving Tori left out.
