Episode 71: A Trio's Challenge (3)
At the duel, the group puts the Barian's plan together but after the Barian merges with Dr. Faker, he explains that due to Heart-eartH Dragon's effect, it can be revived one last time when it's destroyed and has no Xyz Materials. In doing so, its ATK becomes equal to all removed from play cards x 1000, making its ATK 4000. Worse still, Kite's Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon is switched to Defense Mode and the pain resumes inside Kite. To take its turn, Barian Dr. Faker draws and plays Barian's Gateway to deal the trio 800 damage when their monster is destroyed and they have to think fast as they don't have that amount to spare. He attacks but Kite is ready with Photon Escape to remove from play his NGEPD and end the Battle Phase.
However, with another removed from play card, Number 92 gains 1000 more ATK to 5000. Kite will keep fighting even though he's not in the best shape and manages to call out to Hart. Next he discards Dimension Wanderer to deal Barian Dr. Faker the combined ATK of two removed from play monsters that they owned, choosing Number 32 and NGEPD. (The real card is only discarded when your Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon removes from play a monster and in doing so, it inflicts 3000 damage to your opponent.) However, Barian Dr. Faker is ready and uses BG's other effect to send itself to the Graveyard and reduce the Effect Damage to 0. With Kite and Shark unable to really stand up, Yuma is alone but Hart is touched that the trio are trying to save him and sheds tears to trigger his energy and negate the use of the Sphere Field Cannon before BDF sets 1 card to end his turn.
Astral and Yuma seize this opportunity to join together. Next they draw and summon Zexal Weapon - Ultimate Shield (ZW - Ultimate Shield in the CG) (0000) in Attack Mode. Due to its effect, they can revive 3 removed from play Xyz Monsters by negating their effects and they choose Chaos Number 39: Utopia Ray, (2000) Chaos Number 32: Shark Drake Veiss (2100) and Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon (3000), each in Defense Mode. (The real ZW - Ultimate Shield can only Special Summon 1 removed from play Xyz Monster.) As a result, Heart-eartH Dragon loses 3000 ATK, bringing it down to 2000. Nevertheless, Barian Dr. Faker reconnects the Sphere Field Cannon and is now confident that his plan cannot be stopped.
Yuma isn't giving up and equips ZWUS to Utopia Ray, giving it 2000 DEF to 4000. Next he equips it with Xyz Unity, changing it to Attack Mode and having it gain the ATK of the other two Xyz Monsters in Defense Mode for a total of 9800 ATK. His attack activates Number 92's effect to make the trio take the Battle Damage so Yuma uses XU's other effect to send Shark Drake Veiss to the Graveyard and let Utopia Ray attack directly. However, BDF activates Barian's Battle Buster to remove from play the BG in this Graveyard to negate the attack. Yuma isn't deterred and sends NGEPD to the Graveyard to attack directly again but not only is the attack stopped but BDF uses BBB's other effect to send itself to the Graveyard to force a monster to battle Number 92.
Utopia Ray is forced to battle but due to ZWUS's other effect, the damage is added to Utopia Ray's ATK and Number 92's effects are negated, raising Utopia Ray's ATK to 16,600.  The attack connects and Number 92 is destroyed, winning the trio the duel. The Barian releases its grip on Dr. Faker and warns that they'll pay for this before disappearing. The Sphere Field Cannon crumbles and Hart is finally free from it and everything he's gone through. As the building begins to collapse, Kite manages to get Orbital 7 back online to help others escape but Dr. Faker awakens too late and ends up plummeting downward.  Kite has to save Dr. Faker and dives in after him, telling Orbital 7 to take care of Hart. Shark wishes Yuma luck and he follows Kite.
Further down, Kite finds Dr. Faker half on a ledge and tries to pull him up but the ledge crumbles and the two fall before Yuma catches Kite's attempt to save them. He's saving Dr. Faker because while he despises what Dr. Faker had done, he also understands that Dr. Faker did what he could to save Hart and his father would've done the same thing. Dr. Faker is on a guilt trip and Vetrix appears to dish out some revenge and sends all three of them falling downward. Outside, Tori, Shark and Orbital watch as the building continues falling apart. Tori holds faith that Yuma and the others will escape and they arrive through a portal. Reunions are made but Tori claims that she's only crying because her life got more complicated.
Dr. Faker is so moved that he was forgiven by Vetrix despite everything he'd done. Up above, Dextra and Nistro take Shark to the hospital while Dr. Faker tries to make things right and hopes they can be a true family again. Since Yuma won, he still gets his wish and requests to duel Kite as soon as possible.
