Episode 72: Kite's Plight (1)
Inside his home, Kite suits up and cannot remember why he started dueling in the first place and wonders what's next now that Hart is safe. Hart arrives, asking if it's a good idea but the duel was requested by Yuma so Kite heads out, requesting Hart to watch the duel. While Yuma and Astral wait with excitement, the others remark on Yuma's chances but Kite arrives in no time at all. It's time to see who the better duelist so once Nistro and Dextra arrive, duel preparations get underway. Yuma then draws and summons Ganbara Knight (0000) in Attack Mode and while the others criticize the move, Astral thinks otherwise (especially since it's not valid to consider that all monsters with 0 ATK are bad). Next, Yuma plays Zerozerock to prevent Kite from attacking Attack Position monsters with 0 ATK.
With that, Yuma ends his turn so Kite draws and Special Summons Photon Thrasher (2100) in Attack  Mode since he controls no monsters. Next, he plays Photon Crusher (2000) in Attack Mode before Tributing it for Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon (3000) in Attack Mode (which as we've seen in past episodes is NOT an Xyz Summon). He attacks and activates Galaxy Burst to negate GB and Zerozerocks' effects by halving GEPD's ATK to 1500. His attack takes out GB to leave Yuma on the ground and down to 2500 LPs. It's more than enough to confirm to Flip that Yuma is in over his head but he gets a lashing from Cathy.
Yuma remains confident and Kite considers it foolish before activating Battle Gravity to force both players' monsters to battle or they take damage (1000 damage to be exact). Finally, Kite sets 1 card to end his turn so after PB's effect expires to return GEPD's ATK to normal, Yuma tries to get Kite more excited but to Kite, it's a job to meet an end.  Nistro and Dextra approve of Yuma's speech but Kite does not so Yuma draws and plays Goblindbergh (1400) in Attack Mode. Due to Goblindbergh's effect, Yuma Special Summons Gagaga Magician (1500) in Attack Mode, then uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Number 39: Utopia (2500) in Attack Mode. Yuma attacks with Utopia before using its effect to negate the attack.
As a result, Yuma activates Flash Effect to give Utopia 800 ATK to 3300 since its effect was activated and both monsters lose their effects so Utopia can continue its attack but Kite is ready with Battle Simulation to halve their monsters' ATKs to 1500 and 1650. However, Yuma counters with Double Bind to double Utopia's ATK back to 3300 since its ATK was lowered. The attack connects and not only is GEPD destroyed but Kite is thrown to the ground and down to 2200 LPs. Yuma sets a card to end his turn, remaining very excited but Kite doesn't share his enthusiasm and decides he cannot continue the duel. Nevertheless, Utopia's ATK returns to normal as Kite explains that he cannot continue dueling as it was previously done to save Hart.
As Hart and Dr. Faker look on, Yuma refuses to allow it and Astral chats with Kite about how similarly he thought when he first met Yuma but now they have a strong bond and that's what dueling is really about. It's enough to give Kite a smile and a reason to keep dueling as Vetrix, Quinton, Quattro and Trey disappear into a portal up above.
