Episode 69: A Trio's Challenge (1)
As the group cheer Yuma, Kite and Shark on, the trio are ready to go and so is Dr. Faker, whom has more power than they can imagine. Even though Dr. Faker takes on a new form, duel preparations still take place before Dr. Faker notes that he'll have three times their LPs at 12,000 while they each share 4000 LPs. Next, he draws and discards Garbage Ogre to add Garbage Lord from his Deck to his hand. Then he pays 3000 LPs to Special Summon 3 Garbage Lords (0000 x3) in Attack Mode by their effects, bringing his score down to 9000. (The real card costs 2000 LPs to Special Summon it by its effect.)
Now he gives the trio something to be fearful of by using his 3 monsters as Xyz Material for Number 53: Heart-eartH (100) in Attack Mode, draining Astral and the Numbers in the process. Despite its weak ATK, it's immune to their card effects so Dr. Faker sets 2 cards to end his turn. (The real card is much easier to get rid of as it only saves itself from destruction by detaching an Xyz Material.) Convinced that there's nothing to fear from Number 53, Yuma draws and plays Goblindbergh (1400) in Attack Mode. Next, he uses Goblindbergh's effect to Special Summon Gagaga Magician (1500) in Attack Mode and change itself to Defense Mode. Furthermore, he uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Number 39: Utopia (2500) in Attack Mode.
However, this is what Dr. Faker wanted as he activates Battle Route to force all monsters in Attack Mode to attack Number 53 when able. Yuma attacks and Dr. Faker uses Number 53's effect to equip itself with Garbage Ogre and gain Utopia's ATK, putting its ATK up to 2600. (The real card doesn't equip itself with anything.) Regardless, Yuma uses Utopia's effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself and negate its attack. With that done, Yuma uses Double or Nothing! to double its ATK to 5000 and let it attack again. The attack connects, bringing Dr. Faker down to 6600 LPs but Dr. Faker sends the equipped GO to the Graveyard to prevent Number 53's destruction in battle. (The real card can prevent its destruction in battle by detaching an Xyz Material from itself.)
Worse still, Yuma takes half of Utopia's ATK as damage, bringing him down to 2750. (The real card doesn't have this effect either.) Furthermore, Dr. Faker detaches an Xyz Material from Number 53 to gain LPs equal to the damage Yuma took, raising his score to 7850. Out of options, Yuma sets 1 card to end his turn and Shark rates his first turn as not good and not bad. Next, Shark draws but is feeling the effects of the injury he suffered when they faced the army of Litterbots. Regardless, he plays Hammer Shark (1700) in Attack Mode. Then he detaches all of Utopia's Xyz Materials, despite Yuma's disapproval, for Xyz Remora (800) in Attack Mode. (The real card requires you to detach 2 Xyz Materials to Special Summon it by its effect.)
Since XR lowers the Xyz Material count by 1 for each Xyz Material detached to Special Summon it (which they allude to but don't really tell you), Shark uses his 2 monsters as Xyz Material for Number 32: Shark Drake (2800) in Attack Mode. Taking a note from Yuma, Shark equips Utopia with Shield Fin. After that, he attacks Number 53 with Utopia and uses SF's effect to make Utopia's ATK 0 and prevent its destruction in battle this turn, bringing their score down to 2650 as Number 53 lost the ability to gain ATK. Since the effect can only be used once per turn, Shark attacks with Shark Drake, bringing Dr. Faker down to 5150 LPs. Dr. Faker ridicules this move and detaches an Xyz Material from Number 53 to deal Shark what he took himself, bringing the trio down to 1300 LPs.
Shark sets 1 card to end his turn so Kite draws and plays Photon Crusher (2000) in Attack Mode. Next he Special Summons Photon Slasher (1000) in Defense Mode since there's an Xyz Monster on the field. Now he tributes his monsters for Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon (3000) in Attack Mode. He borrows Utopia and attacks with it but Dr. Faker once again equips Number 53 with GO but Kite uses SF's effect to bring Utopia's ATK to 0 and bring their score down to 1200. His second attach with Shark Drake brings Dr. Faker down to 2450 as Dr. Faker sends the equipped GO back to the Graveyard to prevent Number 53's destruction in battle. Furthermore, Dr. Faker detaches an Xyz Material to make the trio take his Battle Damage too but Kite is ready with Photon Prevent to reduce the damage to 0 since he controls a Photon monster.
Kite realizes that what Dr. Faker told him was a lie and since Dr. Faker never showed any pity, Kite won't show him any and attacks with GEPD. Dr. Faker has perhaps not only survived but replaced Number 53 with a new monster!
