Episode 61: Duel of Destiny (1)
At the tourrnament, with four duelists left, Mr. Heartland announces the appearance of the duel tower where the four duelists will face off and Yuma's friends have mixed remarks regarding the match-ups as Tori notes that while Yuma has faced Shark multiple times, none of them involved Shark using Number C32: Shark Drake Veiss and she recalls what happened. Both Shark and Yuma take their places but Shark doesn't react to Yuma's words, leaving Yuma suspicious as they're lifted further into the air. Vetrix watches, knowing it'll be quite the suspenseful duel even if he knows the outcome. Duel preparations get underway before Yuma draws and sets a monster, then another card to end his turn. Astral accepts this strategy, knowing how things could play out. Shark draws, not having much enthusiasm at all, and plays Spear Shark (1600) in Attack Mode.
His attack reveals but doesn't destroy Yuma's Dododo Bot (1900) in Defense Mode, bringing him down to 3700 LPs and leaving Yuma's friends wondering what's going on. With that, Shark sets 1 card to end his turn. Yuma draws and plays Gogogo Golem (1800) in Attack Mode. Next, he switches DB to Attack Mode and attacks with his monsters. As a result, SS is destroyed and Shark is down to 1700 LPs but Shark remains motionless. Nevertheless, Yuma sets 1 card to end his turn and after some tense seconds, Shark begins to get up but can't even remember why he's dueling. Vetrix appears, claiming to help out but when Shark resists Vetrix's crest, Vetrix tries harder, reminding Shark of his true enemy Dr. Faker but he must get past Yuma first.
It works and Shark gets up and is full of rage against Yuma. To start his turn, Shark draws and plays Double Shark (1200) in Attack Mode. Next he powers it up with Aqua Jet, giving it 1000 ATK this turn to 2200. (The real card's ATK boost is permanent.) His attack prompts Yuma to activate Impenetrable Attack and prevent its destruction. However, Shark is ready and discards Shark Spark to negate IA and destroy it. Shark's attack resumes, taking out GG to leave Yuma down to 3600 LPs. Furthermore, DS can attack twice and takes out DB to leave Yuma down to 3200 LPs. Worse still, Shark activates Upswell to revive Spear Shark since he took out one of Yuma's monsters but its ATK is reduced by 1000 to 600.
His direct attack leaves Yuma on the ground and down to 2600 LPs. Yuma and Astral realize that Vetrix has changed Shark's memories to put the blame on Yuma. Shark sets 1 card to end his turn, returning DS' ATK to normal. Yuma draws and with the crowd cheering him on, summons Gogogo Ghost (1900) in Attack Mode. His attack forces Shark to activate Zeus' Breath (Poseidon Wave in the CG) to negate the attack and deal Yuma 800 damage, bringing him down to 1800. (The real card deals 800 damage per Fish, Sea Serpent and Aqua-Type monster you control.) With nothing else left to do, Yuma sets 1 card to end his turn. Shark draws and plays Shocktopus (1600) in Attack Mode. Next he uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Number 32: Shark Drake (2800) in Attack Mode. Vetrix is proud of Shark thus far and it's time for Shark to unleash his fury on Yuma once and for all!
