Episode 58: Swimming with Sharks
After we see the updates to the intro, we find Shark still laying on his side after Quattro's barrage of attacks. Quattro isn't in any mood to give Shark any sympathy and orders him back up to continue the duel. After an internal struggle with Number 32, Shark gets up but is uncertain of how he feels, yet refuses to give into Number 32's wishes. He draws and activates Different Dimension Deepsea Trench to remove from play his own Number 32 Shark Drake. Next he sets a monster to end his turn. Quattro remains boastful and Vetrix warns that it could be his undoing thanks to his String of Destiny card, which is a game of chance that could have Quattro end up just like Yuma and forces Yuma on his face.
Vetrix notes that Quattro is nothing but raw emotion and is proven by Quattro's response. Quattro did everything so that perhaps Vetrix would believe in him again but Shark considers it pathetic and will beat Quattro but Quattro doesn't agree. However, Vetrix admits that he only trusts himself as he also doesn't have faith in Quattro's brothers because his own wit got Quattro the way he is now. Determined to prove Vetrix wrong, Quattro draws and proceeds to attack with Number 40: Gimmick Puppet of Strings but gets a Spell Card instead. Nevertheless, he plays Gimmick Puppet Scissor Arms (1200) in Attack Mode and uses its effect to double its Level to 8 by destroying String of Destiny, which wasn't really helping him that much anyway. (The real card just lets you send a Gimmick Puppet monster from your Deck to the Graveyard when it is Normal Summoned.)
Vetrix considers what Quattro got in return for not listening a just punishment but Quattro Tributes Number 40 to Special Summon Gimmick Puppet Nightmare (1000) in Attack Mode, which counts as 2 Xyz Materials for an Xyz Summon. (The real card Special Summons another copy of itself when it's Special Summoned by its effect.) With that done, he uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Number 88: Gimmick Puppet of Leo (3200) in Attack Mode. Next, he uses Number 88's effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself and once it has no Xyz Materials left, Quattro wins automatically. With only one Xyz Material left (as the effect required it to detach an Xyz Material to use the effect but the real card gets a Destiny Counter on it and you win automatically by having 3 Destiny Counters on it), it won't be long until Shark loses.
Vetrix approaches Shark to suggest how to win, considering Quattro's deed done and now Quattro is useless to him. Shark refuses to help Vetrix but Vetrix maintains that there's no other way to win the duel.
Despite Yuma's protest, Shark draws and reveals his hidden Deep Sweeper (1600 in Attack Mode. Next he uses DS' effect to destroy his own DDDT, returning Number 32 to his field. As a result, he becomes possessed by the number and uses Number 32 as Xyz Material for Chaos Number 32: Shark Drake Veiss (Number C32: Shark Drake Veiss in the CG) (2800) in Attack Mode. Now he uses Shark Drake Veiss' effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself, remove from play Submersible Carrier Aero Shark in his Graveyard and lower Number 88's ATK by SCAS' ATK, bringing Number 88's ATK down to 1300. His attack takes out Number 88 to win the duel but wants to take down Vetrix not Dr. Faker.
Shark takes aim at Vetrix but is forced back by Vetrix's crest and Vetrix disappears along with the Magma Field. Quattro apologizes and while Shark doesn't believe it, Quattro elaborates on what happened. Tori and Yuma support Quattro, whom makes a last request to state that when Vetrix is restored back to being a real father, let that father know his brothers are waiting before disappearing into the abyss. Shark heads out to make Vetrix pay for messing with his family regardless of what Yuma says. Yuma's actions will speak louder than his words and if he does well, others will follow and Yuma knows he's on the right path!
