Episode 43: The Dragon Awakens
At the duel, Kite is about to take 3000 damage from Number 33: Chronomaly Machu Mech's effect but Yuma activates Courageous Heart to halve his LPs to 1200 and negate Machu Mech's effect. As a result, Yuma and Astral are knocked to the ground and Astral is fading away. Despite Yuma helping Kite, Kite protests that it's his job to save Hart and sets 1 card to end his turn. Amidst the ritual, Vetrix has entered the Hart's memory. Meanwhile, Trey warns not to push Yuma and Kite too far and Quattro suggests Trey leave if he's too soft to duel. Trey gathers confidence and draws before activating Chronomaly Pyramid Eye Tablet to give all his Chronomaly monsters 800 ATK, raising Machu Mech's ATK to 3200. Next he uses Machu Mech's effect to detach an Xyz Material from it to deal Yuma and Astral 800 damage, leaving them down to just 400 LPs.
Trey's direct attack on Kite prompts Kite to activate Battle Simulation to halve their monsters' ATKs, leaving Machu Mech down to 1600 and leaving Kite down to 1600 LPs. (In the CG, since Kite's monster's ATK was 0, he couldn't activate Battle Simulation to halve his monster's ATK.) Kite insists he's fine but Yuma notes that since he's dueled Kite before, he knows Kite rather well and they can win by dueling as a team. Yuma then draws and uses Monster Reborn to revive Number 39: Utopia (2500) in Attack Mode, something Trey and Quattro didn't plan for. Next he uses Utopia as Xyz Material for Chaos Number 39: Utopia Ray (Number C39: Utopia Ray in the CG) (2500) in Attack Mode. After that, he uses Utopia Ray's effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself to give itself 500 ATK and lower Gimmick Puppet Giant Grinder's ATK by 1000 to 500.
Their attack takes out Giant Grinder but Quattro activates Gimmick Box to make the Battle Damage 0 and become a monster with an ATK equal to the damage he would've taken, giving it 2500 ATK. Yuma sets 1 card to end his turn, returning Utopia Ray's ATK to 2500. Quattro is too good for any of Yuma's monsters and draws. Next he uses Junk Puppet to revive Gimmick Puppet Dreary Doll (0000) in Attack Mode since it has 1000 or less ATK. Then, since the Gimmick Box is a Level 8 monster, Quattro uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Number 40: Gimmick Puppet of Strings (3000) in Attack Mode. His attack forces Yuma to activate Trap Reborn to halve his LPs to 200 and copy the effect of 1 Trap Card in the Graveyard. Since he chooses to copy Battle Simulation, GPoS' ATK becomes 1500 and Kite is still in the duel with 100 LPs.
Kite is in quite a lot of pain and Quattro is angry that his perfect attack was ruined. As a result, Quattro uses Number 40's effect to detach an Xyz Material from it and next turn, all monsters will be destroyed and the owners take damage equal to their monsters' ATKs. (The real card deals the opponent 500 damage per destroyed monster.) Kite is still on the ground until he gets strength from remembering what'll happen if he abandons the duel. Vetrix will take both brothers' memories but Hart is giving back to Kite by giving Kite his own powers. The ritual is aborted and Kite has plenty of energy from Hart and a new monster for his Deck. Kite uses the energy to draw and play Overlay Regen to give all Xyz Monsters an Xyz Material. (The real card attaches itself as an Xyz Material after activation.)
To help out, Yuma allows Kite to Tribute his own monsters for Photon Caesar (2000) in Attack Mode. Since PC counts as 2 Xyz Materials, he uses it and GEPD as Xyz Material for Neo-Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon (4500) in Attack Mode. (The real PC Special Summons a copy of itself from your hand or Deck when Normal or Flip Summoned.) Next, Kite uses Neo Galaxy-Eyes' first effect to negate the effects of all other Xyz Monsters out. Then, since GEPD is Xyz Material, he uses NGEPD's second effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself and not only gain the Xyz Materials of all other Xyz Monsters but gain 500 ATK and 1 additional attack per Xyz Material it absorbed, raising its ATK to 6000. (The real card detaches Xyz Materials but still gains the ATK boost and the extra attacks. His attacks defeat Trey and Quattro but is it really over?
