Episode 21: Battle with the Bot
We find a robot managing to get past security via winning the on-screen duel to seize the jewelry hidden within. However, there are actually several and they're revealed to be Litterbots ordered to steal by a burglar in a van. The Litterbots return inside the van, well all but one and despite its attempts to get the thief's attention, it doesn't work and ends up getting thrown off the road and into a river when it tries to save a duck family. The ducks end up inside the bot's mouth as it floats downstream. Later, as advertisements for the World Duel Carnival air, Yuma and Tori talk about Yuma's study habits vs. duel habits and find a baby chick in the road. The rest of the family isn't far behind as the Litterbot has washed ashore.
With the ducks reunited and heading away., Yuma and the others try to get the Litterbot working and with a little help from Tori's hairclip, they succeed and it repays Yuma by holding him captive. Worse still it not only follows Yuma home but wants to duel him the minute the word is uttered from his mouth. As the group watches, not only does the Litterbot have a Duel Disk but it's able to forge a Deck on its own too. Later in the duel, Yuma takes damage that brings him down to 1900 LPs, then the Litterbot activates Star Light, Star Bright to make Junk Robot Teapot Kangaroo's Level the same as Junk Robot Camelcycle, which is Level 4. Next, it uses its monsters as Xyz Material for Wind-Up Zenmaister (1900) in Attack Mode.
The Litterbot attacks Yuma directly with it to win the duel. Furthermore, it takes Tori's hair ribbon and puts it on itself, revealing to be a female robot. Tori suggests they name it and Yuma gives it an insulting name he claims to be better than Lillybot, the name the robot likes. The duo end up having a good time and while Lillybot sleeps, the thief decides it's time for his next heist and awakens all of his Litterbots, including Lillybot. The next morning, Yuma arrives to find only the Starlight, Star Bright card where Lillybot resided. Downstairs, he finds Kara, whom needs his help identifying the thief and Yuma is quick to think of Lillybot.
Astral figures that Lillybot is so good at dueling because it's how she was programmed and manages to scope out the thief's hiding spot. The thief has made it to his next destination but Yuma and the others catch up so the thief lets Lillybot go and drives off. Lillybot shows no indication of having even met Yuma before and attacks him instead. With nothing else to do, Yuma challenges Lillybot to a duel to get her back using the card she left behind. After duel preparations take place, Yuma draws and summons Gagaga Magician (1500) in Attack Mode. Next he sets 1 card to end his turn. Lillybot draws and uses Eco Spell - Reduce Waste to remove from play 2 Junk Robots in her Deck to add Junk Robot Camelcycle to her hand, which she then Summons (800) in Attack Mode.
Then she uses Eco Spell - Recycle to Special Summon the removed from play Junk Robot Cleanaga (1200) and Junk Robot Computerkong (1000) in Attack Mode. After that, she uses her monsters as Xyz Material for Recycle Rhinobot (2700) in Attack Mode. Her attack with it prompts Yuma to activate Half Unbreak to prevent GM's destruction in battle and halve the Battle Damage he takes from the attack, brining his score down to 3400 LPs. Yuma draws, knowing he's Lillybot's only chance of returning to normal, and plays Gagaga Girl (1000) in Attack Mode. Then he equips it with Wonder Wand to give it 500 ATK to 1500. Next he uses GM's effect to make it Level 8 to Astral's surprise. After that, he uses Gagaga Thunder to deal Lillybot damage equal to the difference in his monsters' Levels x300, making Lillybot take 1500 damage, bringing her score down to 2500.
With that, Yuma sets 1 card to end his turn and doesn't want to win until he uses Lillybot's card. Lillybot draws and summons Junk Robot Teapot Kangaroo (800) in Attack Mode. Next, she uses Rhinobot's effect three times to detach all of its Xyz Materials and give JRTK 1500 ATK to 2300. Her first attack on GG with Rhinobot prompts Yuma to activate Gagaga Guard to prevent GGs destruction in this battle since Yuma has 2 Gagaga monsters out, bringing his score down to 2200. Her second attack doesn't destroy GM either but brings Yuma down to 1400 LPs. Yuma manages to get Lillybot to temporarily malfunction before using Rhinobot's other effect to destroy her weakest monster out since it has no Xyz Materials and deal both players damage equal to its original ATK, leaving Yuma down to 600 LPs and Lillybot down to 1700 LPs.
Worse still, the thief is still on the loose and Lillybot activates a self-destruct sequence that ends in one minute. Yuma's only hope is to play the card Lillybot left behind to restore her memory. Yuma draws and plays Star Light Star Bright to make GG Level 4 and it seems to get Lillybot back to normal but it's only temporary so Yuma uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Number 39: Utopia (2500) in Attack Mode. With 17 seconds left, Yuma uses GG's effect to make RR's ATK 0 since it and another Gagaga monster became Xyz Material. His attack destroys RR to win the duel and brings Lillybot back to normal with 2 seconds left. The thief doesn't get away though as the other bots carryout what she did not and ends up blowing up the van, even after some are deposited on the road.
The next day, Kari has missed out on her scoop and Yuma heads out but Lillybot gives him his Duel Fuel and a reminder of his dueling status.
