Episode 49: Rise of the Sacred Beasts (2)

At the duel, Jaden plays Wroughtweiler (1200) in Defense Mode and 1 card face down. Kagemaru isn't impressed, questioning if that's Jaden's big move to stop the Sacred Beasts and draws, activating Fallen Paradise's effect to draw 2 more cards and attacks with Hamon, destroying Wroughtweiler, dealing 1000 damage to Jaden and sending Jaden flying backwards as he activates Wroughtweiler's effect, which activated when he was sent to the Graveyard (in battle in the CG), letting him add Poly and an Elemental Hero to his hand from his Grave and he chooses Bubbleman. His score drops to 600. He attacks directly with Uria but Jaden activates The Flute of Summoning Kuriboh, letting him play Winged Kuriboh (200) from his deck in Defense Mode. (Why didn't Kagemaru destroy The Flute with Uria's effect?) Winged Kuriboh is destroyed as WK motions to Jaden about his next card, which is the card Banner gave him and draws again (In the CG and I'm sure in the anime, this is illegal, especially since Bubbleman was in his hand.)

He plays Bubbleman in Attack Mode and again draws twice by its effect. Next he plays Metamorphosis, letting him tribute Bubbleman for a Fusion Monster whose level is the same as Bubbleman's and summons Elemental Hero Neo Bubbleman (800) in Attack Mode. (The real card is an Effect Monster that can only be summoned by sending Bubbleman you control and Metamorphosis to the Grave.) Then he equips Neo with Bubble Blaster, raising its ATK to 1600. He attacks Hamon and to Kagemaru's surprise, Hamon is destroyed as Jaden explains that Neo Bubbleman destroys the monster it battles with. Kagemaru protests that Jaden should've taken damage but Jaden again explains that by destroying BB, his damage becomes 0. Kagemaru draws and again uses FP's effect for another 2 cards. Then he attacks with Uria but Jaden activates Bubble Illusion, letting him play a Trap Card from his hand and he chooses Hero's Rule 1 - Five Freedoms, which removes from play 5 Trap Cards, dropping Uria's ATK to 0 and letting Neo strike back, destroying Uria and dropping Kagemaru's score to 2100.

Kagemaru plays Resurrection Tribute, which can destroy any monster on the field since one of his was destroyed and Neo is destroyed. It also lets him bring back a monster in Defense Mode and he selects Hamon. (This is illegal in the CG since Hamon has a summoning method and cannot be brought out by any means except that method.) Next he uses Uria's effect to bring it back by discarding 1 Trap Card. Next he uses Phantasmal Martyrs, letting him summon 3 Phantasm tokens (0000 x4) in Attack Mode and as Bastion explains that with another Trap in the Grave, Uria's DEF rises to 2000. (The real card only gains ATK.) Finally, he tributes the tokens for Raviel, Lord of Phantasms (4000) in Attack Mode. The Sacred Beasts draw their energy and the cards fade inside shops. Some of the cards have been modified for US as shown at 9:44 into the episode (although it's hard to see):

The kids cry as their awesome cards lose their arts. The Princeton Brothers also notice their cards' images disappearing. Sheppard says that it's as if somehow Kagemaru is absorbing the Duel Monsters. Crowler says it's not in the rules. Zane realizes that if Jaden loses all Duel Monsters will get sucked up. Jaden uses Dark Factory of Mass Production to retrieve Avian and Burstinatrix, then use Poly to summon Elemental Hero Flame Wingman (2100) in Attack Mode. Kagemaru says that by summoning a monster, Raviel's effect activates, giving him a Sacred Beast token (1000) in Attack Mode. (In the CG, they are Phantasm Tokens.) Jaden thinks that with Hamon in Defense Mode, he can take out Uria but then his other Sacred Beasts can take him out next turn. A voice calls out to him, which he recognizes as Professor Banner, whom tells him that if he plays his card right, he can win.

Jaden's LPs drop to 300 (by Philosopher Stone's effect) and Fusion Recovery, which he activates, appears in his hand. After taking back Sparkman and Poly, he uses Poly to summon Elemental Hero Shining Flare Wingman (2500) in Attack Mode and while Kagemaru gets another token, Jaden's monster gets 300 ATK for every Elemental Hero in his Graveyard for another 2100 ATK, boosting its ATK to 4600. He attacks and destroys Hamon but Kagemaru explains that during the turn Hamon is destroyed while in Defense Mode, the damage becomes 0. (The real card doesn't have this effect.) Jaden thinks of his second card, brining his score down to 150 and sets it to end his turn. Kagemaru draws and tributes the tokens using Raviel's effect, raising its ATK to 6000.

He attacks SF but Jaden activates De-Fusion to bring back his Wingman and Sparkman in Defense Mode. He orders Raviel to take out Wingman and Hamon to destroy  Sparkman, which they do. Jaden plays Elemental Hero Clayman (800) in Attack Mode. (Why didn't Kagemaru finish off Jaden with Hamon? He would have won -_-) Next he thinks up his last card, brining his score to 75 and uses it, Miracle Fusion to summon Elemental Hero Electrum (2900) in Attack Mode. Then he uses Sabatiel the Philosopher's Stone, which multiplies the equipped monster's ATK by the number of monsters the opponent has, raising its ATK to 14,500. He attacks and destroys Raviel, winning the duel. Kagemaru protests that the Sacred Beasts cannot be defeated. (Well actually ANY monster can be defeated, it just may be difficult.) Kagemaru returns to his old self (literally) and the souls of the monsters are restored. After the dispute about being over for finding a way to make him young again, he stands and Jaden hugs him, causing him to be sent to the hospital by helicopter. The Philosopher's Stone card vanishes from Jaden's hand. Syrus thinks that things are going to be quite around there but Crowler isn't so sure as he says that the Promotion Exams are next week, which isn't Jaden's cup of tea.
