Episode 132: Clash in the Coliseum (4) | |||
At the duel as the bright light persists, Yami and Kaiba realize that both God Cards have equal strength, yet refuse to give in to the other. Kaiba concludes that a malfunction is responsible for what they're seeing. Dark Marik's Millennium Rod activates on its own, just like in Kaiba's last duel and now Yami and Kaiba take a detour courtesy of Yami's Millennium Puzzle. They arrive at what they conclude is ancient Egypt's ruins and eventually find Slifer and Obelisk now converted to stone. Next they encounter a palace and are transported inside where two people are standing far below. Yami quickly realizes that these two are the same as the ones from the carving at the museum. While Yami takes in what he's seeing as true, Kaiba insists Dark Marik is playing games with them.Nevertheless, they're transported back to reality and the light fades away, revealing that neither player has their God Card in play anymore and are trying to catch their breath. Dark Marik questions what he's seen and fears Kaiba's past intersects with the Millennium Rod but vows to make sure Kaiba doesn't obtain it. Kaiba tries to recall his present info but the visions persist but doesn't acknowledge anything Yami tells him as true. He sets 1 card, saying he doesn't need his God Card, then mentally adds his Blue-Eyes is a more reliable card. Yami draws, not getting a strong enough monster to win the duel with (probably would've been a high-level monster anyway) and plays Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts (1200) in Defense Mode. Kaiba responds with his face down Cloning card to give him his own Gazelle in Defense Mode. (The real card gives you a token with basically everything the Summoned monster has.) Yami then sets 1 card to end his turn. Kaiba announces the pending arrival of his Blue-Eyes but Yami protests that the monster needs 2 tributes. Kaiba agrees but that's changed thanks to his Cost Down card, making BEWD a Level 6 monster and he tributes the Gazelle clone for Blue-Eyes White Dragon (3000) in Attack Mode. (The real Cost Down requires you to discard 1 card for its activation.) Yami draws, determined to show Kaiba the truth and uses Monster Reborn to revive Dark Magician (2500) in Attack Mode. Next he sets 1 card, thinking about his Magic Formula Card that would make his DM's ATK equal to Blue-Eyes (then why not play it right now?).
Kaiba draws and sets 1 card, then uses Card of Demise, letting him draw until his hand holds 5 cards, then he loses all cards in his hand after 5 turns. Oops! At 17:48 into the episode, they have the artwork of Mystical Guillotine instead of the actual card's artwork! Next he summons Lord of Dragons (Lord of D. in the CG) (1200) in Attack Mode, knowing what Yami's face down cards are likely going to be. Yami is aware of the risk but summons Beta The Magnet Warrior (1600 in Defense Mode and attacks LoD with DM and Kaiba responds with Magical Trick Mirror, letting Kaiba use Yami's Monster Reborn card to bring back Obelisk the Tormentor (4000) in Attack Mode, moving Yami's attack to it, causing Yami's score to drop by 1500 to 1500. To Kaiba, it looks like Yami is out of options! |
