Use Vampire Lord instead as he at least has better stats and the same effect. Paying 500 lifepoints can allow your remaining lifepoints to be protected from your opponent's attacks but the newly summoned monster is prone to Bottomless and regular Trap Hole. Rid the field of your opponent's big monsters brought back by Return from the Different Dimension or Dimension Fusion! This guy doesn't have much other than brief stalling to save your lifepoints.

He needs a bit of a boost to survive in battle, especially against the high defenders like even Battle Footballer and Gear Golem the Moving Fortress. Otherwise, he's just a sitting duck waiting to be destroyed. Its apparently amazing effect has forced itself to be confiscated and placed on the Banned List, most likely never to be used again. Well I certainly don't have much doubt he'll run into monsters stronger than him and when it comes to being brave, I'll admit that's true but he's also being stupid for finding opposition that he knows is stronger and more playable than he is. Yu-Gi-Oh packs: $4. Card Sleeves: $3. Actually playing this card in a non-warrior deck: Priceless. There are some cards that aren't playable. For everything else there are better cards.

The high cost to activate this card really brings its rating down since all it takes is a Mirror Force or Bottomless Trap Hole to make you regret activating this card and leave you without monsters protecting you. The odds of him battling another Warrior-Type monster is 1/6 but the odds of him being playable are 0/6 so don't use him. Its new apparent ruling about you being able to activate this card regardless of whether or not your opponent's deck even has a Spellcaster-Type monster bumps this card up an extra star but it still doesn't have much use. You get to tribute an opponent's monster for one of your own or for a card effect that needs you to tribute a monster but its uses are limited and you don't get a Battle Phase when you use it.

Search out monsters like Unshaven Angler to summon Levia Dragon next turn or Amphibious Bugroth to attack directly with Umi out but that's about it. He's okay for Masked Beast Des Gardius but that's it. He may a Level 4 1900 ATK monster but his horrid effect doesn't allow him to receive the 4/5 star rating that other 1900 ATK monsters get. If the discarded card ends up being a card your opponent needed, then this card isn't too bad but like most cards that get this rating, its uses are limited.

Get that needed Ritual Monster or Ritual Spell Card you need to summon your powerful Ritual Monsters like Demise or Shinato! I highly recommend NOT running this card unless you have Sacred Phoenix in your deck, who I also recommend not running. He owns the decent 1800 ATK that all decent monsters like him have and if removed from play from the field he comes back during the End Phase. This frog does provide an extra tribute if you have no Spell or Trap Cards out but he really doesn't have much going for him.
