Episode 122: Assimilation (1)
In Barian World, Heartland doesn't like the machine poised to destroy Astral World but loves the plan to make that happen as it's over the top the way he likes it. Furthermore, the device has fake Number cards that will be delivered by Heartland and Heartland promises to do so and has every reason to keep it. The payment will only be made once Astral World is no more. With that, Vector gets the fake numbers down to earth, leaving everyone surprised. Regardless, several onlookers pick up the glowing cards and fall under Barian World's power. Once Astral World is destroyed, Don Thousand will become the supreme one. The deed doesn't go unnoticed as Trey, Quattro, Yuma and his friends get word via news reports but Trey has found out what's causing it but not where the Number cards came from. One thing's for sure is that the Barians are behind it.
Trey picks up a blip on his radar and they find out it's from Quinton's ship, uncertain whether they've found anything. The two ships meet up and exchange news but Flip cannot control his anger and tries to lash out at Quinton for letting the portal explode. Cathy is in distress but Tori assures that Yuma will find a way back home. It's enough to keep the group calm and confident before Heartland shatters their confidence and gets them to come outside to see the chaos unfolding. Now they can launch the catastrophe together but Kite wants to know how he found them and it was all thanks to one of them picking up a fake Number card. Quattro wants them to fess up and only Flip does not, giving away the fact that he has one. Sure enough, he pulls one out, claiming the card called out to him when it rained down from the sky. Worse still, everyone that picked up a glowing Number card is being transported to Barian World to work for the Barians but Kite is able to figure out the entire plan without Heartland stating it.
Heartland isn't thrilled that the plan was figured out but sends Flip to join the others, propting Kite to initiate duel preparations. Heartland joins in on the duel preparations before Kite experiences a jolt of electricity as Barian World is merging with the human world. Furthermore, Heartland draws and plays Infection Fly (100) in Attack Mode. Next he uses Multifly to bring out two more Insect-Type monsters with the same Level and chooses two more Infection Flys. Next he uses each of the IFs' abilities to double their Levels, eventually getting 3 Level 8 monsters. With that, he uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Number 1: Infection Buzz King (3000) in Attack Mode, the strongest Number of all. Kite isn't happy to see it and insults Heartland, leaving Heartland to no longer play nice by using Number 1's effect to send Kite's Number 2: Ninja Shadow Mosquito to the Graveyard from his Extra Deck.
As a result, Kite gets a major jolt as Vector adds that the number was also a fake. While Kite gets weaker, Vector is summoned to a meetng with the other Barian Emperors. Finally, Heartland sets 1 card to end his turn. Kite notes that while Dr. Faker made mistakes, teaming up with Heartland was biggest of all. Next, Kite draws and activates Luminous Dragon Ritual, a risky move to Ritual Summon with things going downhill in Trey's eyes. Nevertheless, Kite tributes Photon Chargeman from his hand to Ritual Summon Paladin of Photon Dragon (1900) in Attack Mode. After that, he uses Paladin's effect to Tribute itself and Special Summon Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon (3000) in Attack Mode from his Deck. Kite's attack activates GEPD's effect to remove from play both monsters, then return them after the battle, causing Number 1 to lose its 3 Xyz Materials and GEPD gains 500 ATK for each of them, raising its ATK by 1500 to 4500. However, Heartland's strategy isn't affected at all.
Kite sets 1 card to end his turn, protesting that any duelist that told him that was wrong. Elsewhere, the Barians have gathered, including Nash and Mirin but it takes Vector some time to accept this. Meanwhile, Heartland draws and uses Number 1's effect, to obtain 1 Number monster in Kite's Graveyard as an Xyz Material. Worse still, Heartland uses the 2nd effect, letting it destroy 1 card on Kite's field by detaching an Xyz Material from itself. He choose to destroy GEPD, which'll also deal Kite its ATK as damage. However, Kite responds with Prevent and Draw to halve the damage he takes from the effect, leaving him defenseless, on the ground and down to 1750 LPs. Qunton knows what to do and requests Trey and Quattro to destroy any Barian Number cards they have. However, Heartland decides to take them for himself, adding to the power he already has.
Kite notes that it's not over yet as PaD lets him draw 1 card but Kite cannot find the energy to draw the card and collapses. Heartland declares himself the winner but Yuma's voice protests that it's too soon to celebrate. Sure enough, Yuma and Astral arrive and are ready to take part in the action.
