Episode 104: Barian Vengeance (2)
At the duel, as Yuma and Astral discuss their matter with Number 54: Lion Heart, the spirits of lost souls appear and Nistro ends his turn. Yuma draws and attacks Alito's hidden Battlin' Boxer Rib Gardna (1400) in Defense Mode, letting Alito redirect the attack to Number 54. As a result, BBRG also sends Utopia's Xyz Materials to the Graveyard since Utopia is battling an Xyz Monster.  Worse still, Nistro activate Lion Heart's effect to prevent its destruction in battle and make Yuma take the same battle damage Nistro does. However, Dextra is ready and activates Butterspy Protection to halve the damage Yuma takes, bringing Yuma down to 400 and leaving Nistro with 0. Even though Nistro should be out of the duel, Number 54 has another effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself and give Nistro 100 LPs since his LPs hit 0. (The real card doesn't have this effect.)
Furthermore, Dextra uses BP's other effect to switch Lion Heart to Defense Mode since the Battle Phase is over. She tries to snap Nistro out of it but Alito assures he has total control over Nistro so Yuma sets 1 card to end his turn. Alito draws and plays Battlin' Boxer Rabbit Puncher (800) in Attack Mode. Next he uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Battlin' Boxer Cheat Commissioner (0000) in Attack Mode. His attack not only activates BBCC's effect to change all monsters on the field, thus revealing Dextra's hidden Swallowtail Butterspy (1800) in Attack Mode but also have it swap places with another monster and he chooses Nistro's Lion Heart. (The real card forces you to detach 2 Xyz Materials from itself, reveal your opponent's hand and Set a Spell Card among those cards to your field.) Just when Alito thinks he has Yuma and Astral beaten, Dextra activates Butterspy Courage to force Lion Heart to attack SB instead, dealing both players 1700 damage to leave Dextra down to 2300 and Nistro once again at 0.
Once again, Alito uses Lion Heart's effect to detach an Xyz Material and make Nistro's score 100 before setting 1 card to end his turn. Dextra isn't giving up and draws before playing Morpho Butterspy (1200) in Attack Mode. As a result, she also Special Summons Blue Mountain Butterspy (0000) in Attack Mode. With that, she uses her monsters as Xyz Material for Night Papilloperative (2600) in Attack Mode. Next she uses Overlay Capture to take an Xyz Material from Lion Heart and added to her own NP. However, Alito expected this and activates Xyz Battle Chain to prevent OC from taking Xyz Materials and force NP to attack Lion Heart. In response, Dextra uses NP's effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself and give it 400 ATK per Xyz Material on the field, giving it 2000 to 4600. (The real card gains 300 ATK per Xyz Material on the field.)
Her attack costs her the duel but once again Alito uses Lion Heart's effect to restore Nistro's LPs to 100. Yuma has had enough of Alito constantly forcing Nistro to keep dueling but Alito activates Numbers Overlay Boost to make 2 cards in his hand Xyz Materials for Lion Heart. (The real card can only attach monsters to the Xyz Monsters and as we saw, one of his cards isn't a monster.) Despite Alito's orders, after Nistro draws, he uses Stoic Challenge to get rid of all of Lion Heart's Xyz Materials and give it 600 ATK for each one, raising its ATK to 1300 but it'll be destroyed next turn. Furthermore, he equips Lion Heart with Heroic Growth to double its ATK to 2600 since his score is less than Yuma's. His attack takes out Utopia to leave Yuma down to 200 LPs. Finally, he sets 1 card to end his turn. Yuma and Kite realize that Nistro is dueling the way he wants to and the attack Dextra made must've stirred something inside Nistro that rebelled against Alito.
Yuma draws and uses Xyz Shift to swap NP with another Xyz Monster and chooses Heroic Champion - Excalibur (2000) in Attack Mode. Furthermore, XS becomes Xyz Material to Excalibur. Yuma attacks with Excalibur and uses its effect to detach all of its Xyz Materials to double its ATK to 4000. However, since that happened, Nistro can activate Battler's Cry to double Lion Heart's ATK to 5200. Nevertheless, Yuma activates Soul Strike to halve his LPs to 100 and give Excalibur that amount of ATK, raising its ATK to 4100. Since Nistro has the same amount of LPs as Yuma, HG's effect no longer works, returning Lion Heart's ATK to 2600. Yuma's attack prompts Alito to activate BBCC's other effect to detach all of its Xyz Materials and activate a Spell Card from another player's hand and he orders Nistro to activate Barian's Force.
Just as Astral requests, Yuma activates Overlay Marker to negate BBCC's effect and destroy BBCC since it has no Xyz Materials and deal damage to Alito equal to the combined ATK of all monsters that battled this turn. Alito recalls his past but while his LPs hit 0, he's uncertain if they're his memories or not, even when he disappears. Nistro breaks free from Barian's Force and is exhausted but like all the others, has no memory of what happened. They head outside where Yuma not only finds another of his dad's coins but Nistro gives him Lion Heart. Yuma doesn't want Nistro to give up on his dream just to help out and Nistro returns to the tournament, where he takes first place, saying to never give up and follow your dreams.
Back on board the ship, Tori is up but missed out on all the excitement and Orbital 7 wants to go on the next adventure or he'll go on strike. Yuma and Astral discuss what happened but while Yuma doesn't know what caused Alito to change, he's ready to duel Alito as friends.
