Episode 100: A Duel in Ruins (2)
At the duel, as things continue to get worse, Yuma takes Mach's hidden Secret Sect Druid Wid (1800) in Defense Mode with his powered up Gagaga Magician, letting Mach activate Labyrinth of Decisions. (The real card sets the Continuous Spell Card.) However, Mach first discards 2 cards to activate Unfair Treaty, leaving Astral suspicious. While Shark and Dumon continue dodging traps, Yuma attacks Mach directly, bringing him down to 2700 LPs and activating LoD's effect. As a result, Mach sends a card in Yuma's hand to the Graveyard by paying 600 LPs but due to UT's effect, Yuma pays the cost and loses the card, bringing him down to 3400 LPs. It's clear to Astral that the situation everyone is in leaves them with saving either their LPs or their friends. Nevertheless, Yuma uses his 2 monsters as Xyz Material for Number 39: Utopia (2500) in Attack Mode and ends his turn.
Mach isn't entirely impressed and draws before playing Secret Sect Druid Dru (1800) in Attack Mode. Due to Dru's effect, Mach revives Wid in Attack Mode, then uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Number 44: Sky Pegasus (1800) in Attack Mode. Worse still, Mach uses Number 44's effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself and either destroy Utopia or have Yuma pay 500 LPs instead. (The real card forces the opponent to pay 1000 LPs in exchange for the destruction of their monster.) Yuma opts to pay LPs, bringing him down to 2900 but due to Number 44's other effect, Yuma takes that LPs payment as damage, bringing him down to 2400 LPs. (The real card doesn't have this effect.)Meanwhile, Shark and Dumon remain trapped until they learn of the duel's situation.
Shark finds a mural with ancient writing on it but only Dumon understands it and recites what it says. Shark considers it fairytale but they find themselves dodging giant blocks of stone and Yuma must attack. Yuma draws and does just that, prompting Mach to activate Intrigue Shield to prevent Number 44's destruction and reduce Battle Damage to 0. Not only does Mach's card combo activate, costing Yuma 600 LPs and another card from his hand, but he then takes another 600 damage by Sky Pegasus' other effect, bringing him down to 1200 LPs. With the last attack, more of the story is revealed and Yuma sets 1 card to end his turn. However, the mural has worn away the ending but Dumon feels like he's been there before even though he feels he hasn't.
Mach draws and uses Number 44's effect once again, leaving Yuma with a tough choice but Dumon says to protect Utopia with his LPs. However, the floor beneath them crumbles and Dumon manages to not only catch Shark but restore his strength and reveal himself as Dumon. Yuma still remains undecided for whether to protect himself or his monster until Mach decides to attempt to destroy Utopia and Yuma agrees to pay LPs to keep Utopia on the field, bringing his score down to 200. Yuma draws and attacks, letting Dumon and Shark escape, prompting Mach to protect Number 44 with Sky Pegasus and forcing Yuma to lose another card from his hand. Ironically, since Yuma's LPs are down to 200, he can't pay to activate Labyrinth of Decisions, making the entire combo useless. As a result, Mach makes the payment, lowering his score to 2100.
Next, Yuma activates the effect of the card he discarded, Hyper Quick, letting him draw 1 card and if it's a Spell Card, he can activate it (rather make it a Quick-Play Spell). His draw yields him Rank-Up-Magic Numeron Force, which he uses to make Utopia Xyz Material for Chaos Number 39: Utopia Ray Victory (2800) in Attack Mode. Next he uses Ray Victory's effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself and gain Number 44's ATK, putting its ATK to 4600. His attack not only takes out Sky Pegasus to win the duel but frees Dumon and Shark. Before departing, Mach gives Yuma the card and shares the rest of what the legend claimed. Dumon doesn't know why he helped but knows it didn't matter that he helped as Yuma would've done the same thing he did then. They'll meet again but shouldn't expect Dumon to help out. With Dumon gone, Yuma finds one of his dad's coins and they realize his dad must've been to all the ruins. Regardless of what's ahead, Yuma will continue trusting others but Astral is uncertain as he may have to take a different path.
