Episode 98: Shadows End
Yuma's good self awakens in another dimension and finds a statue of Astral but is determined to find the real Astral. While, Yuma races to find Astral as Astral takes his frustration out on good Yuma, the dark duo at the duel draw and play Dark Zexal Weapon Chimera Clad (DZW - Chimera Clad in the CG (0000) in Attack Mode. As a result, Dark Yuma uses its first effect to destroy Vector's Vain Betrayal. (The real card doesn't have this effect.) Next he uses its 2nd effect to equip itself to Utopia Ray V, negating Ray V's effects but preventing its destruction. Then he attacks Number 104: Masquerade with Ray V, bringing him down to 1000 LPs. However, due to Chimera Clad's 3rd effect, it doubles Ray V's ATK to 5200 and lets Ray V attack again since Dark Yuma took Battle Damage. (The real card makes the ATK of the opponent's monster 0.) His attack forces Vector to activate Extra Hundred to prevent Number 104's destruction in battle, bringing his score down to 1300.
Dark Yuma attacks again but Vector uses EH's other effect to make Number 104's ATK equal to Ray V's ATK +100, giving it 5300 ATK and leaving Dark Yuma down to 900 LPs. Due to CC's effect, Ray V's ATK doubles to 10,400 and allow it to attack again. Consequently, EH's effect gives Number 104 10,500 ATK and Yuma's score drops to 800, leaving Vector to realize his job just got much easier. While the attack loop continues, good Yuma arrives to find that Astral has lost his trust in Yuma and states there's no need to apologize as now he's acquired an evil power. Good Yuma realizes he's created it and lashes out, managing to wrap his arms around dark Astral and send the two of them careening out of a window.
As a result, Dark Zexal is undone, leaving good Astral and Yuma back on the duel. To stop Ray V's attack, Yuma ends his turn, bringing his score down to 100 by Sargasso the D.D. Battlefield's effect. When Yuma won't listen, Vector draws and uses Rank-Up-Magic Barian's Force to use Number 104 as Xyz Material for Chaos Number 104: Umbral Horror Masquerade (Number C104: Umbral Horror Masquerade in the CG) (3000) in Attack Mode. Not only does Barian's Force snatch Ray V's last Xyz Material, lowering Ray V's ATK to 82,900 but Umbral Horror Masquerade's effect lets Vector destroy a Spell or Trap Card and he chooses the equipped Chimera Clad, bringing Ray V down to 2300 ATK points.
His attack prompts Yuma to use Xyz Revenge Shuffle to shuffle Ray V into the Deck and reduce the damage to 0. Furthermore, Umbral Horror Masquerade gets to attack again but Yuma can revive an Xyz Monster from his Graveyard. (The real XRS doesn't necessarily let the other monster attack again, though a replay does occur as the number of opponent's monsters changed.) Yuma revives Number 39: Utopia (2500) in Attack Mode and since he'd take 500 damage with Sargasso's effect, Yuma uses Interceptomato's effect from the Graveyard to remove itself from play and reduce the Effect Damage to 0. It doesn't change Vector's plan at all so Yuma activates Spell Recycler's effect from his Graveyard to remove itself from play, send the top card of his Deck to the Graveyard and return a Spell Card from his Graveyard to his Deck.
Vector resumes his attack so Yuma uses Xyz Agent's effect from the Graveyard to remove itself from play and allow Utopia to use its effect without detaching an Xyz Material. (The real card becomes Xyz Material to that monster.) As a result, Yuma uses Utopia's effect to negate the attack. Shark still believes in Yuma but Vector decides to use Umbral Horror Masquerade's effect twice to detach 2 Xyz Materials, halve Yuma's LPs to 50, then 25 and force Yuma to send 2 cards in his hand to the Graveyard. (The real card can only use its effect once per turn.)Confident he'll win with the last card in his hand, Vector sets 1 card to end his turn. Yuma maintains he'll win and draws but collapses from exhaustion and ends up right in front of Astral, whom says he cannot trust Yuma anymore but still has faith in Yuma's spirit and they use Zexal to merge together, this time taking on a new outfit.
Furthermore, they reveal Limited Barian's Force's true form and activate it, Rank-Up-Magic Numeron Force to use Utopia as Xyz Material for Chaos Number 39: Utopia Ray Victory (Number C39: Utopia Ray Victory in the CG (2800) in Attack Mode. Due to Numeron Force's 2nd effect, it negates Sargasso's effect when it's activated. Next, he uses Ray Victory's effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself and have it gain Umbral Horror Masquerade's ATK, raising its ATK to 5800. His attack takes out Umbral Horror Masquerade to win the duel. However, the energy from Yuma and Vectors' duel throws off Sargasso's balance and Dumon and Mizar are forced to leave, cancelling their duels. Vector disappears but not before noting that Astral's dark spot will never go away. Yuma and Astral split from Zexal and are transported on board the airship just as things crumble beneath their feet. Once back home, even though their biggest challenge is still ahead, Yuma is ready for it.
