Episode 51: Roller Duel
At Yuma's house, Kari is angry that Yuma will be late but doesn't find him in his room. Once downstairs, she learns from Yuma's grandma that Yuma has been camping out in front of the gate all night and we find him sleeping on the ground. However, even when wakened, he's still not fully aware until Bronk reminds him of the pending Duel Carnival Finals. Even then, he's not in a hurry until he's again reminded that the finals are starting soon and the group races ahead. Once inside, they see just how big (and real) it is. Mr. Heartland appears to share that the first bit involves the Duel Coaster, which is where Yuma should be lining up.
The duelists are gathering and regardless of how dangerous the ride will be, Yuma is ready to take it on. Kite decides to scope out the Numbers and makes sure Orbital has a reason to comply. However, it doesn't go unnoticed as Quinton and Astral sense it. Everything is going to plan for Dr. Faker and all duelists get into their carts and complete duel preparations. However, Yuma is missing the Heart Piece set and breaks down. While cleaning, Lillybot finds it and Tori relays the news to Yuma. The others are also helping but by the time Bronk arrives to pass it to Tori, the others are already gone.
Despite a trip Tori takes, the Heart Piece set lands in place and off Yuma goes. Yuma's next challenge is to figure out the rules and Astral points out a duel in progress where Nistro plays Heroic Challenger - Spartan (1600) in Attack Mode. Next he uses Riryoku to halve the opponent's Battlestorm's ATK to 900 and give the amount to Spartan, raising its ATK to 2500. His attack takes out Battllestorm to win the duel and send his opponent packing. Shark's duel is also in progress and he takes out the opponent's monster with his own Jawsman to win the duel. Shark spots Quattro racing by but Quattro has his own duels to deal with and summons Gimmick Puppet Egg Head (1600) in Attack Mode.
His direct attack defeats his opponent and Quinton fears his reckless dueling will cost him down the road. At the split, Quinton finds himself with an opponent controlling Vylon Disigma that is attacking him directly and activates Infernal Sun to deal his opponent 800 damage per card in their hand, winning the duel. Furthermore, there's a Spell marker ahead and luckily, it's Dian Keto the Cure Master, giving Quinton 1000 LPs to 5000. Vetrix congratulates Quinton and realizes that Quinton is much like himself. Yuma continues down the line where he runs into the gang from earlier and Vetrix will get to see how good Yuma really is.
Yuma races ahead to escape but cannot escape the Secret Barrel card laid out and takes 200 damage per card in his hand, which is 5, leaving him down by 1000 to 3000. Worse still, he's facing a 3-on-1 duel where Wolfsbane plays Magnet Eagle Delta (1200) and Jackal and Coyote each play Magnet Saucer (1400 x2), all of which in Attack Mode. Yuma is outnumbered and if he doesn't duel wisely, he'll be out of the World Duel Carnival!
