Episode 29: Love Hurts
Outside, Yuma is disappointed that while he won a Heart Piece, it won't fit with the others and Tori points out that due to a heart's unique shape, multiple combinations are possible. Astral notes that they're also there to win Number cards but Yuma has no recollection of ever saying that. Up above, a girl has found Yuma and unleashes her fury by firing from a bazooka. Yuma shields Tori and dodges it but the girl won't stop so the duo race to avoid further attacks. When they duck behind a building, the girl gives chase in her hovercraft. However, the craft proves to have some bugs as the girl gets a rather bumpy ride before she manages to straighten things out. No matter where Yuma and Tori go, the girl is right there and attacking whenever possible.
Just when Yuma is convinced the girl won't find them so high up, she's already there when they get to the top. She's ready to blast Yuma and Tori but her hovercraft gives out first and it takes her down to the ground. Tori recognizes her as Anna Kaboom from school (whom we've never seen up until now). Anna is out for revenge as Yuma never noticed her (then maybe you and Cathy could've gotten together before now because she had the exact same dilemma) and we get a glimpse into Yuma, Tori and Annas' pasts (though just because you do something doesn't mean the recipient will know it's you. In fact, they won't since anyone in the school is a possible suspect). It was on the last day before she transferred that she vowed to get back at Yuma for standing her up.
After Anna attacks Yuma but misses his head, Yuma suggests a Duel instead of a further beating. Tori is surprised that not only Yuma made such a suggestion but Anna accepts it and provides a deal with Yuma whereby she becomes his girlfriend should she win, much to Tori's disgust. After duel preparations get underway, Anna draws and plays Rocket Arrow Express (5000) in Attack Mode since she has no other cards out but she'll have to send 5 cards from her hand to the Graveyard to keep it on the field. (It actually just forces you to discard all cards in your hand to the Graveyard, which is 5 in Anna's case.) Since she can't really do anything else, Anna ends her turn so Yuma draws, knowing RAE can't be taken down this turn and sets a monster and another card to end his turn.
Anna draws and chooses not to discard any cards, causing RAE to self-destruct. Next she sets 5 cards to end her turn. Yuma draws and summons Gogogo Giant (2000) in Attack Mode. He attacks and Astra's warning comes too late as Anna destroys all of her Spell and Trap Cards in play to Special Summon Snow Plow Hustle Rustle (2500) in Attack Mode. Since a replay occurs, Yuma decides not to attack but Anna activate SPHR's effect to deal Yuma 200 damage per Spell and Trap Card destroyed to Summon it, leaving Yuma down by 1000 to 3000 LPs. For her turn, Anna draws and plays Special Schedule to revive Rocket Arrow Express from her Graveyard in Defense Mode since it has at least 3000 ATK. (The real RAE cannot be Special Summoned other ways.)
Next she uses her monsters as Xyz Material for Superdreadnought Rail Cannon (Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Gustav Max in the CG) (3000) in Attack Mode. Then she uses Rail Cannon's effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself and deal Yuma 2000 damage, leaving Yuma down to 1000 LPs. After that, she decides to attack with Rail Cannon but Yuma activates Overlay Buster to give GG 500 ATK this turn to 2500. Anna's attack still succeeds, leaving Yuma on the ground and down to 500 LPs and she promises that Yuma won't survive next turn. Convinced that she may be right, Yuma is out of options until Astral drops him a hint. Yuma then draws and plays Zubaba Knight (1600) in Attack Mode.
Next he flip-summons his hidden Rai Rider (1200) to Attack Mode and uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Temtempo the Percussion Djinn (1000) in Defense Mode. Anna isn't impressed so Yuma uses Temtempo's effect to detach an Xyz Material, detach Rail Cannon's remaining Xyz Material and have Temtempo gain 500 ATK per Xyz Material Rail Cannon lost, raising its ATK by 500 to 2200. (The real card only gains 500 ATK when the other monster loses Xyz Materials and can only detach 1 Xyz Material, which was true in this case.) Finally, Yuma sets 1 card to end his turn. Trembling with rage, Anna draws and activates Train Connection to remove from play RAE and SPHR in her Graveyard to double Rail Cannon's ATK to 6000 and let it have the Fairy Meteor Crush effect. (The real card requires you to remove from play 2 Level 10 or higher Machine-Type monsters, which Anna did.) Anna and Yuma have different opinions on what else happened so Anna just attacks.
As a result, Yuma activates Gamushara to change Temtempo to Attack Mode. Since it's not enough, Yuma also activates Mirror Mail to make Temtempo's ATK equal Rail Cannon's ATK, destroying both monsters. Due to Gamshara's other effect, Anna takes SRCGM's ATK as damage, winning Yuma the duel. Anna is in disbelief and learns what went wrong, even with the person she was after, whom had a similar name to Yuma's. As she heads off, she tells Yuma that not only does she not have a Heart Piece, she doesn't know what it or the Duel Carnival are. Further away, Anna has found Yuma cute until she bangs her head on a metal beam and vows to get her revenge on him once again.
