Episode 46: Amnael's End Game (2)

At the duel, Jaden learns that Banner (or Amnael) was behind the entire Shadow Rider scheme. Amnael tells about how he found a lost tomb buried deep in the desert, containing the first Duel Monsters cards. He decided to follow Pegasus' steps to find out their power but he discovered the tomb was cursed and he had large amounts of energy put into his body. However, he found out that the only way to fix his problem was to build a new body and he did so with alchemy. Chumley and Syrus haven't the faintest idea what Amnael said but Amnael says his body won't last forever and he needs the Sacred Beast cards to survive. Jaden's not thrilled. He won't duel but Amnael says he will for if Jaden walks away, his friends' souls are his. He adds for Jaden to pretend it's his final exam. He draws and activates Chaos Greed, which allows him to draw twice since he has no cards in his Graveyard and 4 cards are removed from play. He sets 2 cards and ends his turn.

Jaden draws and plays Pot of Greed for another 2 cards then summons Elemental Hero Clayman (800) in Attack Mode and equips him with Clay Wrap. Next he uses Polymerization to summon Elemental Hero Rampart Blaster (2000) in Attack Mode. Syrus questions why Jaden used Clay Wrap since it was just destroyed and Jaden explains that when Clay Wrap is destroyed, he can destroy 1 Spell or Trap Card and he chooses Elemental Absorber. He attacks with Rampart Blaster but Amnael activates Macro Cosmos, which destroys Chaos Distill and allows him to summon Helios - the Primordial Sun (????) in Attack Mode. (The real Macro Cosmos doesn't destroy any cards.) Helios gains 100 ATK and DEF for each removed from play monster, giving it 1100 ATK and DEF. Jaden sees all of his friends on different planets. Amnael explains that all of Jaden's matches were fixed so that Jaden could face him.

He activates Planet Alignment, which destroys all of Jaden's monsters and deals him 300 damage, leaving him with 700. (A very similar card in the TCG called "Grand Convergence" destroys all monsters on the field.) Jaden sets 1 card face down to end his turn. Amnael draws and plays Yellow Process - Kitolenics, allowing him to tribute Helios the Primordial Sun for Helios Duos Megistos (????) in Attack Mode and explains that he gains 200 ATK for each monster removed from play for a total of 2400. He attacks but Jaden activates A Hero Emerges, forcing Amnael to pick a card and if it's a monster Jaden can summon it. He chooses the center one, which is Elemental Hero Bladedge (2600), which Jaden plays in Attack Mode. Nonetheless, Amnael still attacks, destroying Duos and reducing his score to 2600. Next he uses her ability, bringing her back with an additional 300 ATK. (The real card must be sent to the Graveyard to gain this effect so it wouldn't work with MC on the field.) He attacks with her again, destroying Bladedge and leaving Jaden with 600 LPs. (This move is illegal in the CG for Amnael has nothing on his field that would allow Duo to attack twice, unless Megistos was summoned during the Battle Phase?)

Anyway, Jaden plays Elemental Hero Bubbleman (800) in Attack Mode and with him alone, Jaden draws twice. Next he uses Fusion Recovery to retrieve Clayman and Polymerization to his hand. Then, he uses Poly again to summon Elemental Hero Mariner (1400) in Attack Mode and sets 2 cards. After that he attacks directly, leaving Amnael with 1200 LPs. Amnael praises him, saying that perhaps Jaden isn't the loser he thought he was. He draws and attacks but Jaden activates Mirror Gate, switching control of both monsters. (The real card returns the monsters to their original controllers at the end of the turn.) Amnael plays Grand Convergence, destroying all monsters on the field and dealing 300 damage to Jaden, leaving him with 300 LPs and no monsters. Once again, his Duos Megistos returns with an ATK of 3000 and he attacks but Jaden activates The Flute of Summoning Kuriboh, letting him play Winged Kuriboh (200) in Defense Mode and is destroyed, reducing Battle Damage to his LPs to 0. (The real card can only activate its effect if it was destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard.) Next he plays Clayman in Defense Mode and one card face down.

Chumley says that's what he would've done but Jaden thinks it was all he could do. Amnael draws and plays Red Process - Rubedo, letting him summon Helios Trice Megistos (????) in Attack Mode, whose effect gives him 300 ATK for every removed monster for a total of 3900 ATK. He attacks and destroys Clayman but Jaden activates Hero Signal, letting him summon an Elemental Her monster and he chooses Sparkman (1400) in Defense Mode, however, Amnael explains that Tris Megistos can attack again if the opponent controls another monster so he destroys Sparkman. Jaden thinks that Amnael might be right about Jaden's duels being fixed, then realizes that he has friends and draws, playing Miracle Fusion, which removes Elemental Hero monsters in his Graveyard from play so he plays Elemental Hero Electrum (2900) in Attack Mode. With his effect, all cards removed from play go back to the deck, leaving Tris Megistos with 0 ATK and he attacks, destroying it and winning the duel. Amnael tells Jaden that he lied about Jaden's duels being fixed and it was to test him and prepare him for the real evil to come. He hands Jaden his book, saying he isn't of this world any longer and disintegrates. An orb, which looks to be Banner's spirit, pops out of the body's remains as Pharaoh plays with it and as the gang are talking about what Amnael has said, swallows the orb.
