| Episode 42: Duel Monsters Spirit Day | |

A female voice speaks, saying it's her favorite time of year, Duel Monsters Spirit Day and she's not going to let it go to waste. A waiter hands two girls, whom appear to be Alexis' friends their drinks. Mindy tells Jasmine how cute the waiter is but Jasmine tells her there will be plenty of flirting to go around since its DMSD. At a fair, two other Obelisk Blue girls are commenting on the Kuriboh Dumplings, (which even I will agree sounds unappetizing.) Meanwhile, Syrus is making a dueling arena and crashes into two buckets of paint, then complains that Chumley's in the way. Chumley says that he is making posters for the big costume duel today. Syrus says he should make a big glam shot of the Dark Magician Girl. What about Des Koala and Des Kangaroo? Syrus adds they aren't real and Chumley tells him that neither is Dark Magician Girl but Syrus orders to never say it. Elsewhere, the others are discussing the disappearance of Professor Banner when Syrus pops a question: What is Chazz doing? Banner jokes about Chazz losing his mind but Chazz says he's looking for Banner's cat for they'll find Banner if he does. Later, Syrus asks if Alexis can be Dark Magician Girl but she's already going as Harpie Lady and she had a better person to be her anyway. After Syrus freaks, Mrs. Dorothy says she makes a fine DMG and has for 10 years. Jaden decides to pick pieces from different monsters and wear them. At least no one will have the same costume he has. Chazz shows in an XYZ Dragon Cannon costume and asks who wants to be first but with no volunteers, he picks Jaden, then denies it saying that he can hardly walk. (Try walking in a V-Z Dragon Catapult Cannon costume if there was one, Chazz.) Jaden asks Chumley and Syrus but they tell him that they're busy. Atticus starts snapping photos of Alexis in her costume to show everyone but Alexis isn't about to let that happen and chases after him. The female voice asks if she can duel and we see that it's Dark Magician Girl. As organizer of the event, Chazz (or Syrus) say yes. Chazz orders Syrus to get to his place. DMG draws her card, which has been slightly modified for US at 10:13 into the episode. The crowd cheers her on as she sets a monster and ends her turn. Jaden plays Elemental Hero Bubbleman (800) in Attack Mode and as Chazz says, Jaden gets to draw twice. Next, Jaden uses Polymerization for Elemental Hero Steam Healer (1800) in Attack Mode and attacks the face down monster, which is Fire Sorcerer (1500) and by her effect, DMG can remove 2 cards from her hand from play and deal Jaden 800 damage, which she does, dropping Jaden's score to 3200 but Jaden activates his monster's effect, giving him LPs equal to the destroyed monster's ATK, raising his score to 4200. DMG draws and plays Magician's Valkyria (1600) in Attack Mode. Next she plays Dimension Fusion, which for 2000 LPs both players can summon monsters removed from play. Her score drops to 2000 and she brings out Dark Magician Girl (2000) and another MV in Attack Mode. She attacks with her monsters, destroying SH and leaving Jaden with 800 LPs. Jaden uses Fusion Recovery to take back Burstinatrix and Poly, then uses Poly to summon Elemental Hero Flame Wingman (2100) in Attack Mode. The crowd boos in disappointment and Syrus whines about Jaden not wanting DMG to win but Chazz says she still has the upper hand. Jaden sets 2 cards and ends his turn. DMG plays Magic Formula, giving DMG 700 more ATK for a total of 2700. She attacks but Jaden activates Staunch Defender (Didn't know he had one), forcing all her monsters to attack him but Jaden activates his other Trap, Hero Barrier, cancelling out DMG's attack and the MV must attack, destroying themselves and wiping out the rest of her LPs. She thanks everyone for a good duel and leaves. Syrus tries looking for her but soon realizes she's gone. She reappears next to him and kisses him, then vanishes again. Jaden sees him as Syrus says it's time for bed. Jaden says that he saw her too. What is Jaden talking about, there's no one here? Jaden agrees, somewhat, then says that maybe she was a someone after all. That would mean Syrus got his first kiss and Jaden laughs about it. |
