Episode 146: A New Evil (2)

At the duel, Gurimo gloats more about Obelisk's strength before destroying Yami's Valkyrion the Magna Warrior with it and leaving Yami down to 2000 LPs. Nothing in Yami's deck can defeat Obelisk but suddenly Gurimo isn't looking so well and Valon notes that their boss said the God Cards and Oreichalkos might not mix well but another member figures Gurimo is just getting too old but either way, they made him duel first to test Yami's strength. Yami uses Graceful Charity to draw 3 cards, then discard 2. Next he summons Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts (1200) in Defense Mode and sets 1 card to end his turn.

Gurimo regains his vision and sets 1 card before destroying Yami's Gazelle with Obelisk's attack. Next he utters what Weevil and Rex said earlier. Valon notes that Yami has a lot of questions but another member explains that they're soul collectors and has two souls right in front of him (confirming that Rex and Weevil lost their duel with Gurimo earlier). Yami draws and uses Monster Reborn on his Valkyrion, then uses Valkyrion's effect to exchange it for Alpha, Beta, and Gamma, all in Attack Mode. Then he uses Brave Attack to force his monsters to attack Obelisk, adding up their damage and creating a scratch across Obelisk's chest (and apparently destroying them at the end of the Damage Step but that isn't mentioned in either version of the episode). Now all Yami needs is a monster with 1500 ATK, exactly what his Gamma has. (Actually he needs a monster with over 1400 ATK so even 1450 or 1401 would work.) His Gamma strikes and Obelisk is destroyed, bringing Gurimo's score down to 2100. Gurimo doesn't need Obelisk to win and uses Card of Sanctity to make both players draw cards from their decks until their hands have six cards. (The real card's effect forces you to remove from play all cards you control and in your hand to draw cards until you're holding 2.) Yami plays Watapon (300) in Defense Mode, explaining that its effect lets Yami Special Summon it if drawn. (The real card must be added to the hand other than by drawing it to activate its effect.)

Gurimo doesn't care about Watapon and summons Warrior Dai Grepher (2200) in Attack Mode, activating Yami's Dark Renewal card to send 1 monster from each side of the field and bring back a Spellcaster-Type monster. His choice is Dark Magician (2500) in Attack Mode, sent to the Graveyard via Graceful Charity's effect. All Gurimo needs is 1 card face down, which he sets, to save himself. Yami attacks directly but Gurimo activates Shield Wall to get four new monsters, of which one gets destroyed. Plus, Gurimo discards 3 cards to activate Bronze Knight to give him 3 Bronze Knight Tokens (1000 x3) in Attack Mode. Yami and Joey protest this move but one of the bikers explains that The Seal doubles the number of monsters its controller can have on the field. (The real card instead prevents your opponent from attacking the weakest monster if you have 2 or more Attack Position monsters.)

Yami sets 2 cards, then plays Queen's Knight (1600) in Defense Mode to end his turn. Gurimo draws and Yami activates Dust Tornado to destroy The Seal but nothing happens as one of the bikers explains why amongst his gang. Gurimo activates The Warrior Returning Alive to bring back and summon Warrior Dai Grepher. Next he uses Allied Forces (The A. Forces in the CG), raising his monsters' ATKs by 800 to 1800, 1300 and 3000 respectively (200 ATK per Warrior on its controller's field). His attacks destroy Yami's DM and leave Yami down to 1500 LPs but Queen's Knight escapes being attacked thanks to Yami's Magical Academy card to replace her with Dark Magician Girl (2500)in Attack Mode. (the extra 500 ATK boost comes with MA's effect and she gets 300 more ATK with DM in Yami's Grave, raising its ATK to 2800. Yami's draw yields him Diffusion Wave Motion, which he pays 1000 LPs to bring his score down to 500 and letting DMG attack all of Gurimo's monsters at once (MA's other effect raises its target's Level by 2, making DMG a Level 8 monster), winning the duel but before Gurimo goes, he hands Obelisk to the other biker members.

Yami wants his God Cards but learns he must beat all of them in a duel and one of the bikers frees Rex and Weevil's souls, handing the cards to Yami in the process. Valon is going to enjoy toying with Joey and group head out. Yami and Tea` head over to where Gurimo now lies and confirm that Gurimo's soul has been trapped inside the card and some kind of glowing necklace is sitting between floorboards, leaving Tea` to wonder if it's involved in all this. The next day, the group find Rex and Weevil and learn they were involved in a duel where they lost their souls while Rex and Weevil learn that the God Cards are not in Yugi's hands anymore and while Yugi and the gang head out, decide to try and steal them but aren't willing to work together.

Yugi and his friends are then walking along when Rebecca comes running up, hugging Yugi immediately and no longer needing a teddy bear for protection and adds that Professor Hawkins wants to see Yugi. The group head over to the Domino Museum where Solomon and Professor Hawkins are gazing at the stone tablet. Professor Hawkins feels that all the bizarre events have to do with Yugi himself. On board a seaplane, the biker gang is returning home, eager to tell their boss that they found the Pharaoh.
