Episode 140: The Final Face-Off (3) | |||
At the duel, Yami's direct attack on Dark Marik with Obelisk the Tormentor connects and Dark Marik is on the ground and down to 700 LPs, only one attack away from defeat. While the gang cheer, Ishizu and Kaiba suspect Dark Marik wanted this to happen. Dark Marik laughs, then staggers to his feet, impressed by Yami's move but reminds him of whom really suffers as Good Marik is nearly gone. He invites Yami to attack them as desired for he has a card that will shock Yami to his core and soon Good Marik will be gone forever! Inside Odeon's hospital room, Good Marik's sprit talks talks to the still unconscious Odeon about his thoughts, then disappears, with an apology. Back at the duel, Dark Marik activates Metal Reflect Slime since his LPs dropped by more than half and it becomes a clone of the monster responsible for the damage, making it look like Obelisk the Tormentor. (The real card can be activated any time after the turn it is set but doesn't take the form of any monsters that attack you or your monsters.) Sure enough, as the group watch, Dark Marik's field obtains a shinier Obelisk known as Egyptian God Slime but Joey protests that with only 3000 DEF, it's only a cheap copy but Dark Marik states that there's more to his God Slime than it appears. Nevertheless, Yami sets 1 card to end his turn. Dark Marik draws and plays Revival Jam (500) in Defense Mode, recalling Yami's last encounter with it. Next, he uses Polymerization to combine his monsters, assuring that there is a difference between his monster's previous form and the form it has now. Yami summons Big Shield Gardna (an Effect Monster in the CG) (2600) in Defense Mode, then attacks with Obelisk but after splattering, it reforms and this was Dark Marik's plan from the beginning! Dark Marik sets 1 card, then summons Bowganian (1000) in Defense Mode, whose effect deals Yami 300 damage each turn. (The real card deals twice that amount during your Standby Phases and is a Level 3 monster.) Yami draws and tributes BSG for Dark Magician Girl (2000) in Attack Mode. His attack prompts Dark Marik to activate Jam Defender and move the attack to EGS, forcing DMG backward and bringing Yami's score down by 1000 to 1300. (The real Jam Defender's effect only works on Revival Jam.) Worse still, Yami takes another 300 damage by Bowganian's effect, bringing his score down to 1000 and leaving Yugi with even less of his body. Just then, Good Mark takes possession of Tea` and explains everything, wanting to go with his dark half if necessary, despite Ishizu's pleas but Dark Marik is unphased, protesting that Good Marik barely exists. Dark Marik draws, using Mining for Magical Stones (Magical Stone Excavation in the CG), letting him retrieve a Spell Card in his Grave by discarding 2 cards. Of course, his selection is Monster Reborn. In just one more turn he'll bring back Ra and victory will be his but Yami protests that there's one chance. Back in Odeon's room, Odeon's eyes open. |
