Episode 136: Battle for the Bronze (2) | |||
At the duel, Yami and Yugi realize Joey is doing well and could've won the tournament had it not been for Dark Marik's Shadow Game and they recall what happened. Kaiba congratulates Joey on his first good move but reminds him of what his Crush Card did to his deck, then takes his turn by summoning Blade Knight (1600) in Attack Mode and takes out Joey's SoL to leave Joey down to 1100 LPs. Finally he sets 1 card, claiming Joey has no chance. Meanwhile, at the top of Kaiba's Duel Tower, Dark Marik ponders what happened and demands his Millennium Rod to show him what it showed Kaiba. When nothing happens, he angrily tosses the rod aside where Tea`-Good Marik picks it up, advising to be more careful. Back at the duel, Joey draws and plays Little Winguard (1400) in Attack Mode (at the moment, it's unclear whether it's finally been made an Effect Monster or not but they're now more consistent with its name) and equips it with Legendary Sword to raise its ATK and DEF by 300 but Kaiba counters with Absorb Spell (" ") to take the LS and give it to his own BK, raising its ATK to 1900 and its DEF to 1300. Joey sets 1 card and Duke hates to admit that Kaiba's tough (he's always been tough, where have you been?) but Tristan adds that Joey is too. Back on the Duel Tower, Dark Marik demands to be handed back his item but as he approaches, the rod activates and forces Dark Marik backward and DM can't understand why someone else is able to use its magic.
On the ground, Yami's Millennium Puzzle activates and Yami feels it's not a good sign and is shown that Tea is involved and heads out, informing Joey to stay strong. Kaiba draws and uses Enemy Controller to pay 1000 Life Points to use its first effect and take Joey's LW, bringing his own score down to 1800. Then us uses Cost Down to drop 2 Levels from any monster in his hand and tributes Joey's LW for his own Blue-Eyes White Dragon (3000) in Attack Mode. His attack with BEWD forces Joey to activate his hidden Scapegoat card to give him 4 goat tokens, 2 of which are destroyed as Kaiba explains that his BK gains 400 ATK when its owner has 1 or less cards in their hand, putting its ATK up to 2300. Joey draws and sets 1 card, then summons Battle Warrior (1000) in Defense Mode to end his turn. Kaiba isn't worried about being slowed down but back on the Duel Tower, Dark Marik learns of Good Marik's plan and reminds Good Marik of Odeon long enough to take back the Millennium Rod and back Tea`-Good Marik into the railing. However, Good Marik escorts Tea` in acrobatics and escapes until DM uses the rod's magic to cause TGM (Tea`-Good Marik for short) to land on the ground. He aims to end their little game but Ishizu steps in and learns it's too late for Good Marik and Tea` is released from his control while DM considers sending both of them to the Shadow Realm. Yami enters to stop DM and DM realizes how popular he is today. The duo begin a battle with their Millennium Items but stop as DM has something more fun in mind and bids him good day before heading out. Ishizu explains to Yami that Good Marik has been within Tea's mind and could be gone forever soon. On the ground, Kaiba draws and uses Card of Demise to draw 5 cards and will lose any remaining cards in his hand after 5 turns. Next he summons Kaiser Sea Horse (1700) in Attack Mode and uses his attacks to leave Joey defenseless and return BK's ATK to 1900. Joey draws and uses Pot of Greed and gets good results, activating his face down Graverobber to take and use Kaiba's Enemy Controller, paying 1000 Life Points to destroy Kaiba's BEWD, brining his score down to 100. Next he uses Monster Reborn on that Blue-Eyes and puts it in Attack Mode. His attack destroys Kaiba's BK and leaves Kaiba down to 700 LPs and very unhappy. Next Joey summons Hayabusa Knight (700) in Defense Mode and sets 1 card to end his turn. Kaiba draws and uses his KSH's effect to tribute it for Blue-Eyes in Attack Mode. He attacks Joey's BEWD, destroying both cards. Next he uses his own Monster Reborn to bring back Blue-Eyes. It's time he finish Joey off and make Joey find out the hard way he doesn't belong here! |
