Episode 47: Mark of the Monkey (1) | |||
As the Dark Signers and Signers gaze at one one another, one of them holds an Ancient Fairy Dragon card belonging to Luna and, revealing himself as Devak, he allows Luna to duel for it. The decision is to have them all meat at the Four Stars of Destiny the next day but while Yusei races after them, wanting the duel right away, Jack sees a familiar face amongst the group. Despite Yusei's demands, they aren't supposed to duel there and they don't answer any of his further outbursts. Feet away, Jack takes after the familiar face and uncovers her as Carly Carmine but if he wants answers, he'll have to find her at the designated location tomorrow. Back at Martha's place, the kids sob as they tell Dr. Smit (or Smith I suppose) what happened to Martha.
Jack has heard enough and demands the kids to stop immediately but Yusei brings it to a lighter level for them as it's really the Dark Signers' fault this happened (though you can't put the blame solely on them because it's a chain of events that make a disaster.) and after the Dark Signers fall, those that were captured will come back. In the meantime the kids must stay positive and help those still here. Yusei watches as the kids are escorted to bed before joining in a conversation on the other side of the door about the faulty promise. However, Akiza notes that Yusei is the only one that believed in her so she supports him and the others eventually agree but Blister asks about the Four Stars of Destiny and learns what it all means from Mina. When she brings up info on Professor Fudo, Yusei realizes that perhaps Roman was lying about what was said earlier as Mina recalls a conversation she had with Goodwin. Mina shows a map of where the designated stations are and the group decides to split up with the extras tagging along to others. That night, those participating listen to Yusei's short speech before heading off. In the patrol car, Leo is already worked up over the red-eyed crows and Luna's light tap brings him well beyond startled. The conversation turns when Luna hears a scream from within the Spirit World but Trudge believes none of it, even after Luna disappears to respond to the call from there. Despite already knowing where Luna probably is, Leo takes to the streets to search with Trudge when he stumbles upon the station with the monkey and gets Devak to make himself known without realizing that Leo is no Signer until he steps closer. The others see the giant monkey symbol in the sky and Leo manages to get Devak to agree to the duel despite doubts of Leo having even remotely the same skills. Yusei joins Trudge and doesn't want to explain how true the Spirit World is, nor can either of them stop the duel in progress. Leo gets the first move and draws, playing Morphtronic Magnen (800) in Defense Mode before setting 1 card to end his turn. While Luna, now in the Spirit World comes to grips with what she experienced earlier, Devak draws and summons Magician Ape (Ape Magician in the CG) (800) in Attack Mode. Next he uses its effect to discard 1 card (another MA or AM) and gain control of MM. (The real card requires you to send a Monster Card to the Graveyard to gain control of an opponent's face-up Defense Position monster but both cases are met here.) Then he attacks Leo directly and Luna hears Leo's cries as his score drops to 3200. Leo is in trouble now! |
