Episode 63: Playing with a Parasite (1)

The gang meet and compare Locator Card collections but Joey's in last place and needs another challenge. A kid finds him, claiming to be a fan and wanting an autograph for his sister. Just as Joey is about to give the autograph, the kid asks to try on his Duel Disk for a second. Joey agrees and gets caught up in a speech before realizing he's been tricked. The kid used the time to get going but Joey races after him and with Tristan's help, they intervene and take the Duel Diskm away. The kid explains he's a beginner and thought it was okay to steal but as it turns out, this story was a ruse to not only get a rare card he was promised but bring Joey right to Weevil Underwood, whom had been giving orders to the kid and wants payback for Yami's victory at Duelist Kingdom.

The kid unfortunately gets no rare card, then gets backstabbed a 2nd time when sprayed with a sticky substance. The gang head to wear the kid had told them Weevil had been seen and when Weevil shows, he has no memory of taking anyone's cards. Instead of violence, Joey challenges Weevil to a Duel for 2 Locator Cards, leaving both at risk of being out of the tournament. The Duel starts off well for Joey as he lures Weevil right into a trap of his own, gaining the upper hand in the Duel. However, this is short-lived as Weevil starts gaining LP thanks to Joey's attacks, then begins brewing the same combo that he used against Yami at Duelist Kingdom. Furthermore, he brings out the very monster the kid had inserted into Joey's Deck while he had Joey's Duel Disk and it immediately puts Joey in a tight spot.

Even with this new monster, Joey is still able to attack until Weevil counters with a Continuous Spell that makes his attacks useless. Joey tries to counterattack but all his monsters become infected and Weevil starts chipping away at his LP before his powerful insect emerges.
