Episode 38: Digging Deeper (2) | |||
As she falls, Carly recalls her past events with Jack before things begin to change with her. The ground trembles and everyone nearby feels it. When it's over, Carly has returned to Sayer's office, wanting a rematch and Sayer can't believe his eyes as Carly goes through a makeover. Sayer accepts the terms of the Shadow Duel and begins it by summoning Krebons (1200) in Attack Mode. Next he uses Emergency Teleport, letting him bring out the Level 3 Mind Protector (2200) in Defense Mode. Then he uses them as Synchro Material for Magical Android (2400) in Attack Mode. Even though he can't attack this turn by game rules, he still gains 600 LPs for every Psychic-Type monster he has out by MA's effect, raising his score by 600 to 4600. Carly begins her turn with the Field Spell Future Vision (Future Visions in the CG). Next she summons Fortune Lady Light (????) in Attack Mode, whom gains 200 ATK and DEF x its Level, making her ATK and DEF 200 but will also gain 1 Level each turn. However, due to FV's effect, FLL is removed from play, triggering her effect to let Carly play Fortune Lady Fire (????) in Attack Mode, following Light's effect to have an ATK and DEF of 400 but also letting Carly destroy Sayer's Magical Android and deal damage to Sayer equal to its ATK (since she was Special Summoned by a Fortune Lady monster's effect but they don't tell you that). Sayer is left defenseless, on the floor and down to 2200 LPs. Oops! At around 9:56 into the episode, Sayer is shown with 4000 LPs when we know he gained 600 LPs last turn and nothing in between then and now changed that! The attack is unlike anything Sayer felt before and he takes FLF's direct attack to bring his score down to 1800. Carly sets 1 card to end her turn. Meanwhile, Lazar panics over the appearance of the Dark Signer symbol and is confused that they'd fight in New Domino City instead of Satellite. Akiza finds the place seemingly empty until Misty appears, wanting revenge for her brother and believes Akiza took him but Akiza has no knowledge of this so they decide to duel and Misty reveals her new Dark Signer self. Down below, Jack finds himself being followed by a second Dark Signer symbol and goes for a better look. Yusei notices his arm glowing and both he and Jack know that a Shadow Duel is taking place but only Jack seems to know exactly where. Tanner and Yanagi awaken and Tanner has an idea and takes the door down with a few attempts. Back at the duel, Akiza wants to defend herself and retrieves her duel disk from a hidden panel. Next after duel preparations take place, Akiza summons Twilight Rose Knight (1000) in Attack Mode and uses its effect to bring out Lord Poison (1500) in Attack Mode from her hand. Then she uses her monsters as Synchro Material (as TRK is a Tuner) for Black Rose Dragon (2400) in Attack Mode, leading Misty to wonder if Akiza's situation is similar to her own, recalling a time from her past.
Akiza is unphased, setting 3 cards to end her turn. Misty draws and activates Savage Colosseum, forcing monsters to attack and giving her 300 LPs whenever a monster battles. Furthermore, she activates Field Barrier to prevent SC from being destroyed and new Field Spells from being activated. Next she summons Reptile Gorgon (Reptilianne Gorgon in the CG) (1400) in Attack Mode and equips it with Attack Pheromone to change RG's attack target to Attack Mode if the target is in Defense Mode. (The real Attack Pheromone is a Continuous Spell Card.) Now she equips RG with Molting Escape to give it 100 ATK whenever it battles and prevent it from being destroyed in battle once per turn. (The real card gives 300 ATK to the monster.) Her attack destroys neither monster but brings her score down to 3000, then back up to 3300 by SC's effect. Thanks to RG's effect, BRD loses all its ATK and is stuck in Attack Mode. Sayer is about to lose his Shadow Duel and so is Akiza! |
