Episode 30: Fight or Flight | |||
In the Impound Lot, a male looks around and finds a deck to steal but police are already picking up on his activity and arrive shortly but discover how high-tech the Duel Runner they find really is. Introducing himself as Crow, he says the Satellite will love him for his act. On one end of the unfinished bridge, Yusei asks about the reason the bridge wasn't finished and learns that the evil from Satellite would've been granted access to New Domino City. Furthermore, if the Satellite good guys weren't brought over, the evil would stay. Meanwhile, Crow's Runner is brought into the Impound Lot and Crow knows it's time to make his exit. With Plan A out of the question, it's time to move to Plan B, his favorite and he bolts down a hallway and is being monitored. Sector Security gives chase but Crow smashes out a window and reunites with his Duel Runner. He blazes ahead and flies over the gate after it closes with a Sector Security Guard close behind. Since Crow won't surrender, the SSG initiates a Turbo Duel. SSG draws and plays Gate Blocker (2000) in Defense Mode before setting 3 cards to end his turn, confident they'll be enough to win him the duel. Since Crow has no monsters and SSG has one, Crow Special Summons Blackwing - Sirocco the Dawn (2000) in Attack Mode (The real card can only be Normal Summoned without tributing.) Next he uses their effects to Special Summon Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind (1300) and Blackwing - Bora the Spear (1700) in Attack Mode respectively. After that, he uses GtW's effect to halve GB's DEF to 1000. Then, since Crow has 3 Blackwings on his field, he can play Delta Crow - Anti Reverse from his hand, destroying all Spell and Trap Cards SSG has. Now he uses StD's effect to have Bora gain ATK equal to the total ATK of all Blackwing monsters on Crow's field, raising its ATK to 5000. Since BtS has the Fairy Meteor Crush effect, Crow attacks with it, destroying GB and winning the duel.
However, he finds a chasm waiting for him but manages to fly over it and land on the other side. Meanwhile, Trudge awakens with no memory of the duel and Mina shows him the duel that he initiated and was caught on tape. Crow returns to his apparent friends and gives them the cards he stole, warning not to let Sector Security see the cards being played with. He parks his Duel Runner and learns of Yusei's championship victory. Back on the New Domino side of the bridge, Yusei learns more of his Signer mark's importance and shares his victory over Grady. Goodwin brings up something more interesting to Yusei, a war that began 5000 years ago. Unfortunately for Luna, whom is trying to sleep, she experiences this battle. Moreover, Goodwin adds that a prototype Ener-D reactor was built underground and suffered a meltdown that made Satellite what it is now. The tournament was to confirm suspicions on whom the Signers were and they were found and proven true. Now the Signers must join forces to defeat the Army of Shadows or face the grim future seen in the championship duel.
As for the fifth signer, Goodwin is still working on that and it's time Yusei return to the Satellite and a helicopter with Yusei's Duel Runner drops from below. Meanwhile, Jack awakens, not remembering anything past the duel. Carly comes to as well and opens the door to find Mina and Trudge looking for Jack, whom makes himself known and adds that Carly saved him back in the duel. Jack isn't the duelist he once was and doesn't listen to Mina, asking to be left alone and to tell Goodwin goodbye. Carly is loving the idea and quickly comes up with possible article headlines. Mina heads out in frustration with Trudge following soon thereafter. Jack tells Carly he wants to be left alone but she's too busy with the thought of just his presence being there with her. Yusei prepares to be released from the helicopter via Duel Runner and makes a safe landing. A voice calls out to him. It's Crow and Yusei has a lot of nerve coming here! |
