True and False: Titanic History (Page 18)
What was Titanic? R.M.S Titanic (aka Royal Mail Steamer/Steamship) Titanic was an ocean liner that sailed from April 10th 1912 at Southampton, England to what was intended to be New York City, but sank on April 14/15th 1912. She was built by Harland and Wolff in Belfast, Northern Ireland and was intended to be part of a trio of sister ships for White Star Line. Myth #18: Mummy on Board? This sounds more like something you'd hear in a movie. It really doesn't make any sense either. 1. The absurdity of this is very high as curses don't exist and it doesn't explain why one would be on there in the first place. 2. The one alleged to be on board was still in the museum. I think we'd have known about it if it were true. Certainly not something Olympic would've carried. 3. Take any ship on Titanic's route with the same conditions and I doubt many would've been able to avoid the berg that doomed Titanic in the first place. 4. Generally stories like these are often made up on the spot with little-to-no info on how it came about.
