True and False: Titanic History (Page 16)

What was Titanic?
R.M.S Titanic (aka Royal Mail Steamer/Steamship) Titanic was an ocean liner that sailed from April 10th 1912 at Southampton, England to what was intended to be New York City, but sank on April 14/15th 1912. She was built by Harland and Wolff in Belfast, Northern Ireland and was intended to be part of a trio of sister ships for White Star Line.

Myth #16: Jenny the Cat Predicted Titanic?
It's a heartwarming tale of a cat that supposedly knew Titanic was going to sink and was able to escape the ship beforehand, but what's the real story?

1. Other than word of mouth, there's no evidence a cat was even on the ship, let alone one named Jenny.

2. As a cat owner myself, I've seen no evidence they're able to predict anything ahead of time, though dogs seem to have this ability as video shows.

3. What would a cat be doing on the ship anyway? I've read nothing to even suggest there would be any reason for a cat to climb aboard, except maybe for food. Dogs certainly have been proven to be taken aboard and a few even survived the sinking.
