My Yu-Gi-Oh Hybrid Fanfic Season 9 (Page 5)
1.
"ATK" stands for
Attack Points while "DEF" stands for Defense Points. When a
monster is Summoned or revealed after being Set, I will use its
ATK or DEF number and label it accordingly based on the
character's subsequent line of dialogue. 2. For more info on the cards played, click any of the Info links. |
Card Type(s) Played: Effect Monster / Xyz Monster / Spell Card / Trap Card --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Safe or Sorry (Part 3) Previously.... "I'll start my turn with Junk Runt (500 ATK) in Attack Mode. Now I can use its ability and play Junk Synchron (1300 ATK) in Attack Mode from my Deck. Since Buster Warrior Is still on my field, I'll give it a tune-up with Junk Synchron and Junk Runt to bring out Junk Buster (1900 ATK) in Attack Mode. Due to his ability, he can destroy 1 monster on the field with a lower Level once per turn so goodbye Meklord Destructor! Meklord Destructor is destroyed. Now Junk Buster, let's attack their Meklord Gears!" shouted Yusei. "Looks like I'll be well on my way to trashing your Turbo Knight thanks to Meklord Sanctity, which lets me draw 1 card for all Meklord monsters in my Grave with a different Level, and that's 6. Prepare yourself, Yusei as I arm my Deity with Meklord Spear, letting it deal damage even if your monster is in Defense Mode and negates your monster's effects. You'd better get used to a lack of Synchros because there won't be any more after this Duel. Meklord Deity dethrone his Turbo Knight! Turbo Knight is destroyed and Yusei is down to 7250. Now I'll activate Meklord Dome (Info), preventing you from Synchro Summoning on your next turn, then Set 2 cards to end my turn. (Hand: 3 cards) "That puts Yusei in a huge mess. How's he supposed to win without Synchros?" realized Crow. "He has that other card," reminded Akiza.
"With my
turn, I think I'll use an old favorite,
Monster Reborn
(Info)
to revive Junk Synchron
(500 DEF) from my Grave in Defense Mode. Now
I'll play something totally new, and it's all thanks to two people that
came when I needed them most. Let's win this for them as I Tribute Junk
Synchron and pay half my LP to play an Xyz Monster straight from my
Extra Deck," continued Yusei.
His score drops to 3625. "XYZ what now?" asked Crow.
"This is
where it all ends for you, Double S. Come on out
Junk Fighter
(Info)
(4000 ATK) in Attack Mode. With him in play, your monster loses half its
ATK and its effects since it's a Level 10 monster.
Meklord Deity's ATK drops to 0.
Junk Fighter, punch that monster into
next week!
Meklord Deity is destroyed and Double S' LP drops to 2950.
Plus it also deals you damage
equal to your monster's Level x 300 and that's 3000!" shared Yusei.
Double S' LP drops to 0 and the stolen Synchros
return. "This isn't how it was supposed to end! I locked out your Synchro Summons entirely!" protested Double S. "I'm afraid you overlooked the special card that won me this Duel. I think it's time you took a long hike outta here," corrected Yusei as Double S. disappears. "That's showin' 'em!" shouted Leo excitedly. "Nice one, Yusei. Guess that special card came in handy. I hadn't a clue how it worked, but you managed to make it happen," commended Crow. "It took Pegasus and Bruno to really bring this one home. We'll definitely owe them something in return," added Yusei. "All that matters is everything is right with the world. That was some victory out there, Yusei-boy. I take it my card did you wonders?" called Pegasus. "I don't think I would've won without it," agreed Yusei. "We figured that bonus card would be the perfect counter given their hatred of Synchros. Just seemed logical given their strategy was to block Synchros or punish you for using them," noted Bruno. "Thanks a million, you two," replied Yusei. "Happy to help," winked Bruno. "Now that you've saved the world, mind if I hold onto the Deck for a while? You know, just in case someone else needs to save the world?" requested Pegasus. "It's yours. I like my old Deck a bit more anyway," admitted Yusei before he hands over the Deck. "Next time, I want a shot at the antagonist. This business of saving the world and not having it be at least partly me just isn't cutting it," remarked Jack. "You'll get your turn again, Jack. There's always the next bad guy threatening to take over the world," assured Yusei. "Or maybe it's my turn? I haven't done any world saving since the Dark Signers. It's about time a female saved the world for a change," declared Akiza.

Card Type(s) Played: Effect Monster / Spell Card / Trap Card --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Safe or Sorry (Part 2) Previously.,.. "Yusei Fudo, the time is now to dethrone your status as top Duelist and rid the world of Synchros forever," called a voice. "Yusei! We've heard the news and we're backing you up at all times," called Crow as he and Akiza rush over. "This chat has been lovely, but it's time to put an end to the silliness and I'll start with Meklord Gears (1000 ATK) in Attack Mode. Due to its effect, I can add Meklord City to my hand, which I then play. It gives all Meklords on my field 600 ATK at my Standby Phases. Next I'll Set 3 cards and end my turn," stated Double S. (Hand: 1 card)
"I play Tuning Force, which revives
Buster Warrior from my Grave and gives it 500 ATK this turn. We're going
to see a resurgence of the Synchro!" interrupted Yusei.
Buster Warrior reappears and its ATK rises
to 2000. Meklord Compiler is then destroyed, bringing Double S. Down to
7800. "Now that it's my Main Phase 2, and there's a Meklord in my Grave, I can now bring out Meklord Destructor (Info) (2500 ATK) in Attack Mode. It gains 300 ATK for all Meklord monsters in my Grave and with that I'll end my turn," said Double S. Meklord Destructor's ATK rises to 2800. (Hand: 0 cards.) "I'll start my turn with Junk Runt (Info) (500 ATK) in Attack Mode. Now I can use its ability and play Junk Synchron (1300 ATK) in Attack Mode from my Deck. Since Buster Warrior Is still on my field, I'll give it a tune-up with Junk Synchron and Junk Runt to bring out Junk Buster (Info) (1900 ATK) in Attack Mode. Due to his ability, he can destroy 1 monster on the field with a lower Level once per turn so goodbye Meklord Destructor! Meklord Destructor isn't destroyed. What happened?" shouted Yusei. " Meklord Destructor can't be destroyed by effects once per turn," explained Double S.
"My face-down Synchro Strike
(Info)
will help me anyway because Junk Buster now gains 500 ATK for all
monsters used in its Synchro Summon this turn," replied Yusei.
Junk Buster's ATK rises to 3400 and Meklord
Destructor is destroyed, bringing Double S. down to 6900. "Time to put you in a bind with Meklord Speed (Info), which lets me bring out Meklord monsters from my Deck that add up to the Level of the Meklord I just lost. Since Destructor was Level 7, I can bring out Meklord Skiel Knight (Info) (400 DEF) and Meklord Wisel Bot (Info) (800 DEF) in Defense Mode," countered Double S. "Then I'll end my turn with 1 face-down," concluded Yusei. Junk Buster's ATK returns to 1900. (Hand: 0 cards.) "Witness my great power as I play Meklord Granel Isolator (Info) (1200 ATK) in Attack Mode. Next, since I have 1 of each Wisel, Granel and Skiel, I can send them to the Grave and bring out a brand new weapon just for this Duel. Rise up, Meklord Deity (Info) (4500 ATK) in Attack Mode. You're not going to have the strength to fight back against this behemoth. Deity, slice up his Junk Buster! Junk Buster is destroyed and Yusei's score drops to 4350. My turn may be over, but you might as well forfeit," announced Double S. (Hand: 0 cards) "That was a mistake that I'm going to make you pay for. Since I have 2 Synchros in my Grave and 1 of them is a Tuner, I can put my own tactic into play. I banish Junk Buster and Buster Warrior from play in order to Special Summon Turbo Knight (Info) (3000 ATK) in Attack Mode. Due to its first effect, I can draw 1 card. Next, I gain Life Points equal to half the total ATK of the Synchros banished to Summon him," shared Yusei. Yusei's score rises to 7750. "Your Turbo Knight isn't a threat to me or my Deity," protested Double S. "My monster packs 1 final ability that prevents it from being attacked as long as I have at least 2 Synchros banished. I'll Set this card and end my turn," added Yusei. (Hand: 0 cards) "Looks like I'll be well on my way to trashing your Turbo Knight thanks to Meklord Sanctity (Info), which lets me draw 1 card for all Meklord monsters in my Grave with a different Level, and that's 6. Prepare yourself, Yusei as I arm my Deity with Meklord Spear (Info), letting it deal damage even if your monster is in Defense Mode and negates your monster's effects. You'd better get used to a lack of Synchros because there won't be any more after this Duel," laughed Double S. TO BE CONTINUED...

Card Type(s) Played: Effect Monster / Spell Card / Trap Card --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Safe or Sorry (Part 1)
At Jack's house... Alright, I think we've done the best we can with this Deck. Now we just need to find Team New World before they take away any more Synchros," concluded Yusei.
"Right and when we find them, we'll
be the last thing they ever see," declared Jack.
Meanwhile... "The last thing we'll ever see? They must have it backwards. The last thing they'll see is us finishing off Synchros for good," remarked Lester.
"Indeed, and with the new setup I
have planned, we'll be the ones to come out on top, regardless of the
cards they've obtained. Now let's go pay them a visit," agreed Jacob.
Elsewhere.... "We gotta find Yusei and the others before it's too late. I don't want to think about what Team New World might've already done to them," urged Crow.
"We will, Crow. They can't be too far," assured Akiza.
Back with Jack and Yusei.... "Yusei, what's that black card on top of the Deck?" asked Jack. "Black card? You're right, Jack. Must be a card Pegasus and Bruno forgot to mention. Says it's an Xyz Monster, whatever that is," realized Yusei. "Can we use it?" asked Leo. "I dunno. Looks simple enough, but we might need to save it for when we really need it," answered Yusei. "Yusei Fudo, the time is now to dethrone your status as top Duelist and rid the world of Synchros forever," called a voice. "Who said that? Who's there?" questioned Yusei. "You can call me Double S," answered Double S (aka "Synchro Shredder) "Well then, Double S, I can't let your plan come to pass so are you ready to Duel?" responded Yusei. "I've been ready for tens of thousands of years for a moment like this one. You'll tremble when you see the Deck I've been building," replied Double S. "Yusei! We've heard the news and we're backing you up at all times," called Crow as he and Akiza rush over. "What is that thing?" asked Akiza. "He calls himself Double S and I'm going to put a stop to his plan of dethroning Synchros for good," explained Yusei. "Give him a little extra for me, Yusei," requested Crow. "I'll do it for everyone that they hurt and will hurt," confirmed Yusei. "This chat has been lovely, but it's time to put an end to the silliness and I'll start with Meklord Gears (Info) (1000 ATK) in Attack Mode. Due to its effect, I can add Meklord City (Info) to my hand, which I then play. It gives all Meklords on my field 600 ATK at my Standby Phases. Next I'll Set 3 cards and end my turn," stated Double S. (Hand: 1 card) "Then let's kick it up a notch as I'll play Buster Synchron (Info) (200 ATK) in Attack Mode. With its effect, I can play the Tuner monster Buster Knight (Info) (800 ATK) in Attack Mode as well. Now I can tune them together for something with a bit more might. Come on out, Buster Warrior (1500 ATK) in Attack Mode. Buster Knight, let's take down their Meklord Gears!" declared Yusei.
"You've activated my Meklord Vice
(Info),
which negates your attack and halves your monster's ATK," countered
Double S.
Buster Warrior's ATK drops to 750. "I'll lay these two down and end my turn," finished Yusei. (Hand: 2 cards) "Then my turn begins and Meklord Gears gets a boost thanks to Meklord City. Meklord Gears' ATK rises to 1600. Next I'll summon Meklord Compiler (Info) (1800 ATK) in Attack Mode. Compiler, take out Buster Warrior! Buster Warrior and Meklord Vice are destroyed, bring Yusei down to 6950. Since Compiler destroyed a monster in battle with at least 1000 less ATK, it can attack again in a row so Compiler, it's time for round 2!" shouted Double S. "Not this time, Double S as I play Tuning Force (Info), which revives Buster Warrior from my Grave and gives it 500 ATK this turn. We're going to see a resurgence of the Synchro!" interrupted Yusei. TO BE CONTINUED...

Card Type(s) Played: None --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In with the New
At Jack's house... "So, Yusei, what's this grand scheme of yours to combat the updates to Team New World?" asked Jack. "It's going to start with our Decks. We'll need to beef them up as well to have any chance against the new Meklord cards. Luckily, I've gotten a friend that is helping us out, Bruno," explained Yusei. "Isn't he the one that taught you Accel Synchro Summons?" asked Luna. "That's him alright. He's dropping by to showcase some new cards he got from Pegasus himself," added Yusei. "THE Maximillion Pegasus? Industrial Illusions Maximillion Pegasus?" questioned Leo in shock. "You got it, Leo. They're expected to be here in an hour and are only going to give advice on using them. We'll have to figure out the rest, but I've been told they're quite the upgrades," continued Yusei. "Sure hope it's a new powerhouse of a monster. That'll smash those Meklords into tiny puzzle pieces," shouted Leo with joy. "Either way, we'll have to come up with the plan together," said Akiza. "Can we really trust those two to deliver on their promises?" asked Jack. "They're certainly men of their word. As bad as Pegasus apparently was in the past, he still delivered on what he set out to do," assured Yusei. "Is that them now?" asked Leo. "Let's have a look. Yep, that's them. I'll go greet them," replied Yusei before heading out the door. Outside... "Yusei-boy. Glad you hadn't gotten under fire by Team New World before we arrived. In this day and age, there's no telling when an enemy might strike," greeted Pegasus. "You're telling me. It's been quite the past few years," nodded Yusei. "About these new cards, Yusei. They're quite powerful, but have quite the catch as well. You'll have to really look at them to find out the best possible way to use them, especially since it's likely Team New World will have additional tricks up their sleeves," warned Bruno. "Thanks for that, Bruno. We'll be sure to look at all possible strategies," assured Yusei. "We can't stay long. Don't want the enemy finding out about these precious gems do we?" admitted Pegasus.
"Certainly not. Thanks again you two. Catch ya later," answered Yusei
before Bruno and Pegasus leave.
Yusei closes the door. "So what's in the box?" asked Leo. "A Deck of about 50 cards. We could just go in with it, but I'll bet we'll need to combine strategies with other Decks to get the most out of it," stated Yusei. "Well let's lay them out on the floor and we'll look at them together," suggested Jack before the gang do so. "These look really complicated," remarked Leo. "Yeah, I can't figure out how to use them," agreed Crow. "Bruno warned us they'd be a bit tricky. Pegasus said he worked all night on them. Now let's see what we can do. We might just have to try them out in practice Duels before we can figure out the right strategy," recalled Yusei. "Are you daft, Yusei? We don't have time for that many Duels. Team New World could show up any second. We'll just have to make the best of what we've got," corrected Jack. "No, Jack. We can't just wing it with a Duel this important. From what I can tell, this Deck is built to Turbo Synchro Summon," analyzed Yusei. "Like Accel Synchro?" asked Akiza. "Kinda, yeah, but it's brand new. There's even a new Synchro and Synchro Tuner here. Looks like it's able to attack right away, even on the first turn," told Yusei. "How is that even possible?" asked Luna. "Just about anything is possible with Pegasus making the cards. It's time to put these cards to some good use in their honor," answered Yusei.

Card Type(s) Played: None --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Coup de Gras (Part 4) Previously... "You have allowed me to unleash Granel Polymer (? ATK) in Attack Mode. His LP rises to 2950. This is my ace in the hole because for every banished monster, it gains 800 ATK and DEF and I gain another 500 Life Points with Granel Boost! Granel Polymer's ATK rises to 4000 and his LP rises to 2950. Plus if attacking a monster it gains half that monster's ATK at damage calculation," stated Jacob. "Actually I plan on winning as I drop Kalut the Moon Shadow from my hand to give Thunder the Maelstrom 1400 ATK this turn. Thunder the Maelstrom's ATK rises to 4900. "It wasn't enough and it's time to end this Duel. I activate Granel Spot to banish your monster since I control a Granel Fusion Monster and you control a Synchro Monster. Thunder the Maelstrom disappears from the field. Plus that adds another 800 ATK to my Polymer. Granel Polymer's ATK rises to 4800. Granel Polymer, attack Crow directly and vanquish his Synchros for good!" replied Jacob. "Crow!" yelled Akiza before Crow's LP drops to 0. "As your LP disappears, so do all your new Synchros. It's been a pleasure putting you in your place," remarked Jacob before disappearing. "I should've done more to counter his strategies, but I had no idea he updated his Deck. Now how are we supposed to beat them?" admitted Crow. "We'll figure it out, Crow. Let's find Yusei and Jack," replied Akiza. "Hope they're not facing down the new Meklords," added Crow.
"They'll find a way out of it if they
are," confirmed Akiza.
Meanwhile.... "What a chump Crow turned out to be. I thought he was better in the Grand Prix," commented Lester. "That's because he had more luck on his side," added Primo. "He was simply unable to cope with the new forces at work. He's only the first stepping stone to conquering New Domino City. Our biggest threat of course is Yusei Fudo. We beat him and we basically already win," stated Jacob. "How are we going to do that?" asked Lester.
"Join forces, but this time with a whole new appearance," answered
Jacob.
Elsewhere.... "Yusei, there's Yugi I wonder if they've heard any news. "If I know my Yugi-boy, and I most certainly do, he'll have figured out a way to end this madness," thought Pegasus as the group rush over. "Yugi, we're in need of some help. I'm sure you're aware of the Duel Disk problem?" called Yusei. "Yeah, it's been a mess from the beginning. We can't figure out how to fix it," nodded Yugi. "We have to stop them at the source, Team New World. My research has put them on the frontline and I'm sure they'll be waiting for a final showdown," explained Pegasus. "We may not have met on the best terms, but I think this time we can form a partnership until it's all over," agreed Yugi. "That's my Yugi boy. Always thinking on the positive side. Now where should we start looking for Team New World?" applauded Pegasus. "Probably at some secret hideout like always," figured Jack. "Or they'll just show themselves like they did at the Grand Prix," recalled Yusei. "Yusei! We've seen Team New World. They just took down Crow!" yelled Akiza as she and Crow rush over. "WHAT!? What happened?" questioned Yusei. "They Dueled me and not only won but took my Synchros too. They're not the same Team New World as before. They've turbo charged their Decks," replied Crow. "Jacob had a new arsenal of cards devoted to Meklord Emperor Granel and played with a rule that cost Crow Life Points each time he Synchro Summoned," added Akiza. "Then the other two probably have similarly updated Decks. We'll have to come up with a strategy to beat them once and for all," announced Yusei. "We're going to bring Team New World crashing to the ground!" declared Jack. "and avenge the loss Crow suffered," added Leo.

Card Type(s) Played: Effect Monster / Fusion Monster / Spell Card / Trap Card --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Coup de Gras (Part 3) Previously... "Time to cut your behemoth down some more. My Pot of Greed should be a good start. I can draw 2 cards. Next I'll play Black Whirlwind, which lets me get more of the flock as soon as I Summon its friends to my field. I'll bring out Blackwing - Sirocco the Dawn (2000 ATK) in Attack Mode since you control a monster. This activates Black Whirlwind to get Blackwing - Breeze the Zephyr, which I can then Special Summon (300 DEF) in Defense Mode since it was added to my hand by an effect. Now I'll activate Sirocco the Dawn's effect and give it 1100 ATK from Breeze the Zephyr. Sirocco's ATK rises to 3100. Sirocco, send that Slicer to the scrap heap," explained Crow. Granel Slicer is destroyed and Jacob's score drops to 6800. "Minimal effort when you're about to lose," remarked Jacob.
"Your
Granel Deck is about to be shaken to its core. Blizzard the Far North
revives Shura
(Info)
(1200 DEF) from my Grave. Then, Black Whirlwind gets to add another
Breeze the Zephyr
(Info)
to my hand and it's joining the flock (300 DEF). Now I can Double Tune
Blizzard the Far North and Breeze the Zephyr with Shura the Blue Flame
to unlock something that can really take flight. Soar through the skies,
Blackwing - Thunder the Maelstrom
(Info)
(3500 ATK) in Attack Mode. Oh yeah and I
can't take damage from effects of any kind so your little rule is out
the window. Thunder the Maelstrom now activates its first effect to
banish 2 monsters from your Grave!
Granel Soldier and Granel Knight leave Jacob's Grave and Granel
Guardian's ATK drops to 2000. Time for a repeat performance of your
Granel Kaiser as your new one is going to join it! Thunder the
Maelstrom, take it down!" ordered Crow.
Granel Guardian is destroyed and Jacob's LP lowers to 4900.
"History will repeat itself, Crow and it's all thanks to you. I activate
Granel Rebirth
(Info)
to pay half my LP and banish all other Granel cards in my Grave to bring
out something totally unstoppable," responded Jacob.
His LP drops to 2450. "Like I haven't heard that one before," muttered Crow.
"You have allowed me to unleash
Granel Polymer
(Info)
(? ATK) in Attack Mode.
This is my ace in the hole because
for every banished monster, it gains 800 ATK and DEF and I gain another
500 Life Points with Granel Boost!
Granel Polymer's ATK rises to 4000 and his LP rises to 2950.
Plus if attacking a monster it gains
half that monster's ATK at damage calculation," stated Jacob. "Without any cards in my hand, I gotta' end my turn," sighed Crow.
"Your hand will be as empty as your Life Points. Granel Polymer, destroy
his Thunder the Maelstrom!" shouted Jacob.
Granel Polymer's ATK rises to 5750.
"My
monster won't go down that easily. First, it can't be destroyed in
battle and second, the monster that attacks it loses 1000 ATK at damage
calculation," shared Crow.
Thunder the Maelstrom isn't destroyed and
Granel Polymer's ATK drops to 4750, but Crow's LP becomes 2650. "It's a waste to keep monsters that weak on the field, even if they can survive battles. I'll play this face-down and end my turn," concluded Jacob. (Hand: 0) "Then let's see what I can do. Thunder the Maelstrom, attack Granel Polymer!" shouted Crow. "Looks like you've given up or else you wouldn't be this reckless," figured Jacob.
"Actually I plan on winning as I drop
Kalut the Moon Shadow
(Info)
from my hand to give Thunder the Maelstrom 1400 ATK this turn.
Thunder the Maelstrom's ATK rises to 4900. "Such a predictable move. I play Granel Gate (Info), preventing either of us from using effects in the hand this turn," countered Jacob.
"WHAT!? That means no 1400 ATK
boost," remarked Crow angrily.
Thunder the Maelstrom's ATK returns to 3500.
"Indeed
and that's going to cost you another 1250 LP, leaving you hanging on by
a thread," added Jacob.
Crow's score drops to 1400. "That'll have to do," said Crow. (Hand: 0 cards) "It wasn't enough and it's time to end this Duel. I activate Granel Spot (Info) to banish your monster since I control a Granel Fusion Monster and you control a Synchro Monster. Thunder the Maelstrom disappears from the field. Plus that adds another 800 ATK to my Polymer. Granel Polymer's ATK rises to 4800. Granel Polymer, attack Crow directly and vanquish his Synchros for good!" replied Jacob. TO BE CONTINUED....

Card Type(s) Played: Effect Monster / Spell Card / Trap Card --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Coup de Gras (Part 2) Previously.... "Who are you talking to?" asked Akiza. "Whomever may be out there. Could be anyone in this town for all we know. I'll bet it's someone unwilling to show their face like the coward they are. Probably with some lackeys to boot that'll probably come after us too," figured Crow. "It must be my lucky day because I've found a well-known Synchro user," stated the figure. "Looks like it's my lucky day too. I was hoping someone responsible for the town's mess to show up so I could help clean things up a bit," replied Crow. "We intend to do all the cleaning up around here so let's get things started with a Duel," said the figure. "Here comes Black-Winged Dragon (2800 ATK) in Attack Mode!" responded Crow. "Your ignorance will be your downfall as your combo was totally wasted. Come my next turn, you'll be the first victim of the new Team New World!" declared Jacob. "I don't think so. I'll lay this down and end my turn," replied Crow. (Hand: 1 card) "Then I hope your Black-Winged Dragon is ready to be sent to the great birds nest in the sky. Kaiser Granel, destroy his Black-Winged Dragon!" stated Jacob drawing his card. "Go Synchro Strike (Info)! It raises Black-Winged Dragon's ATK by 1000 points for the 2 Synchro Materials used to Summon it!" countered Crow. Black-Winged Dragon's ATK rises to 3800.
"Not even
half my monster's ATK so it's still a grounded bird," noted Jacob.
Black-Winged Dragon is destroyed and Crow's
LP drops to 5900. "We've got a long way to go, old timer. You've got nothing to celebrate just yet," reminded Crow. "You just wait and see what else I've got. I'll Summon Granel Slicer (Info) (1400 ATK) in Attack Mode and end my turn, but thanks to Granel Boost, I get 500 more Life Points," stated Jacob. His LP rises to 8500. (Hand: 3 cards)
"Time to cut your behemoth down some more. My
Pot of Greed
(Info)
should be a good start. I can draw 2 cards. Next I'll play
Black Whirlwind,
which lets me get more of the flock as soon as I Summon its friends to
my field. I'll bring out Blackwing -
Sirocco the Dawn (Info)
(2000 ATK) in Attack Mode since you
control a monster. This activates Black Whirlwind to get
Blackwing - Breeze the Zephyr
(Info),
which I can then Special Summon (300 DEF) in Defense Mode since
it was added to my hand by an effect. Now I'll activate Sirocco
the Dawn's effect and give it 1100 ATK from Breeze the Zephyr.
Sirocco's ATK rises to 3100.
Sirocco, send that Slicer to the
scrap heap," explained Crow.
Granel Slicer is destroyed and Jacob's score
drops to 6800. "Minimal effort when you're about to lose," remarked Jacob. "Just go," snapped Crow. (Hand: 0 cards) "I shall, and play Granel Power (Info) to let my Kaiser Granel deal you piercing battle damage by lowering its ATK by 1000. Kaiser Granel's ATK drops to 7000. Granel Kaiser, blow that Breeze away!" began Jacob.
"Got ya! I had another Set card and you were so confident your attack
would be my undoing. Now it's time to undo you with
Black Sonic
(Info)!
It banishes all monsters you have in Attack Mode so you're saying
goodbye to your Kaiser Granel!" smirked Crow.
Kaiser Granel disappears from the field. "You think it's over, but you've allowed me to evolve my Granel Kaiser. It now becomes Granel Guardian (Info) (0 ATK) in Attack Mode! His score rises to 7300 via Granel Boost. It's not affected by your Spell or Trap Cards and can attack twice per turn, not to mention gains 1000 ATK for all Granel cards in my Grave. Granel Guardian's ATK rises to 4000. Since it's still my turn, Granel Guardian, take down Sirocco the Dawn and Breeze the Zephyr! Both monsters are destroyed and Crow's LP drops to 3900. I'll set 2 cards and end my turn," finished Jacob. (Hand: 0 cards) "Alright, Crow. You need a strategy for this bigger behemoth. Luckily, it's only half the beast his Kaiser Granel was, but it's packing some serious defenses. I'll need some sort of powerhouse this turn This'll do. I play Blackwing - Blizzard the Far North (Info) (1300 ATK) in Attack Mode. This activates Black Whirlwind and Blizzard's effects. The flock is about to come together into something truly spectacular. Your Granel Deck is about to be shaken to its core," assured Crow. TO BE CONTINUED...

Card Type(s) Played: Effect Monster / Spell Card / Trap Card --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Coup de Gras (Part 1) In New Domino City.... "Doesn't really feel like my flock is together with how these Duel Disks are messed up. Sure wish I had an idea of who was behind it. I hope they're watching so I can give them a very personal message. We're not happy with your shenanigans, got it? I think it's time we ruffled your feathers, wherever you are so come on down and let's dance!" yelled Crow. "Who are you talking to?" asked Akiza. "Whomever may be out there. Could be anyone in this town for all we know. I'll bet it's someone unwilling to show their face like the coward they are. Probably with some lackeys to boot that'll probably come after us too," figured Crow.
"Well you'd better not give too much attention to yourself. You might
just get it. If they're capable of messing up Duel Disks, there's no
telling what else they could do," remarked Akiza.
A figure appears. "I'll accept this one. It's going to be fun taking down someone trying to destroy the world," agreed Crow. "There's just one stipulation. If you Synchro Summon, you take damage equal to its ATK. Plus when I win, I take your Synchro for good," noted the figure. "I should've expected this from someone trying to destroy the world. I guess you're part of Team New World. Nothing I can't handle so let's go!" admitted Crow. "Then the first move is mine. I'll play Granel Soldier (Info) (0 ATK) in Attack Mode, then Set 1 card to end my turn," said the figure. (Hand 4 cards) "Now I know you're up to something as otherwise you wouldn't be so bold as to put a monster that weak in Attack Mode. I'll just have to get rid of it without attacking. I play Blackwing - Shura the Blue Flame (Info) (1800 ATK) in Attack Mode. Next, I'll use Black Gust (Info) to return your monster right to your hand," began Crow. "On the contrary, this activates Granel Soldier's effect, destroying it. Furthermore, it lets me bring out Granel Knight (Info) (0 ATK) in Attack Mode from my Deck," corrected the figure. "That's two Granel monsters in a row. I think I've seen this guy before. You're Jacob, the leader of Team New World and the muscle behind the whole operation," realized Crow. "I'm also the muscle behind this Duel," added Jacob. "Whatever. I'll Set 2 cards and end my turn," continued Crow. (Hand: 2 cards) "Then I'll continue by playing Granel Charge (Info), which destroys both my monsters and lets me bring out Meklord Kaiser Granel (Info) (0 ATK) from my Deck in Attack Mode. His ATK is double my Life Points so that's 16,000. Kaiser Granel's ATK rises to 16,000. However, it can't attack this turn and halves battle damage it deals you. Still, it's more than enough muscle to beat you when the time comes. Now I'll activate Granel Boost (Info), which'll give me 500 Life Points each time I Summon a Granel monster. I'll Set 1 card and end my turn," finished Jacob (Hand 3 cards) "I know a way to cut your monster down to size. Come out Gale the Whirlwind (Info) (1300 ATK) in Attack Mode. Next comes his ability, which cuts your monster's ATK in half! Kaiser Granel's ATK drops to 8000. Plus, I'll add Synchro Boost (Info) to raise Gale's ATK by 500 and its Level by 1. Gale becomes Level 4 and its ATK rises to 1800. Now I'll give them both a tune-up and bring out something that'll really take flight. Here comes Black-Winged Dragon (2800 ATK) in Attack Mode!" responded Crow. "You've only done yourself in as you now take damage equal to your Synchro's ATK," noted Jacob. "Nah, I knew that was coming. I'll activate my face-down card, Blackwing Feast (Info)! Since I have a Synchro Monster out, you can't damage me by any means this turn," smirked Crow. "Your ignorance will be your downfall as your combo was totally wasted. Come my next turn, you'll be the first victim of the new Team New World!" declared Jacob. TO BE CONTINUED....
